Which European car shows are worth visiting?
Choose by the experience you want, not by a supposed league table. Paris is the clearest fit for a conventional public motor show and vehicle discovery. Munich offers both an industry-focused summit and a free public event across downtown locations. Goodwood is the choice for motorsport atmosphere and cars in motion rather than rows of indoor displays.

Paris Motor Show: a public exhibition in Paris
The official event site schedules the 91st edition for October 12–18, 2026, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Its program includes a test center where visitors can try automotive innovations, an exceptional-vehicle showcase and other entertainment. That combination makes Paris a good choice if you want a conventional motor-show visit with opportunities to see vehicles and explore some innovations hands-on. IAA MOBILITY: a summit and a city-wide public event
IAA MOBILITY is scheduled for September 7–12, 2027, in Munich. It is not a single-format fair: the professional IAA Summit is at Messe München, while IAA Open Space brings a public event downtown. The organizer describes the wider subject matter as spanning cars, bicycles, urban planning and digital services; Open Space combines a festival venue, product showroom and test track.

Goodwood Festival of Speed: cars in action
Goodwood is a motorsport and car-culture festival, not an indoor manufacturer show. Its program centers on hill-climb action and also includes the Cartier Style et Luxe concours, classic cars, postwar aircraft and live entertainment. It suits visitors who want a festival atmosphere and vehicles being driven, alongside static displays.

The 2026 edition took place July 9–12, 2026, according to the Goodwood Festival of Speed FAQ. That edition has passed; the date of a subsequent edition is not established here. Goodwood’s media center describes the event’s character and attractions.

- Confirm the edition year and dates on the organizer’s official visitor page before booking travel; show schedules can change between editions.
- Check the venue and format carefully. IAA MOBILITY’s summit and public Open Space have different locations, audiences and admission rules.
