TLTBoards’ Gorilla is a three-wheeled electric stand-up board designed for off-road riding. New Atlas reported a claimed top speed of 45 mph and range of up to 18 miles in August 2025, but those figures were manufacturer specifications—not independently measured results. Its unusual layout pairs one powered rear wheel with two tilting front wheels intended to help stabilize the board at low speeds.
How the Gorilla is designed to ride
The Gorilla has one knobby, powered rear wheel and two smaller, tilting, unpowered front outrigger wheels. The rider stands sideways in a surfboard-like stance and controls acceleration and braking with a handheld controller mounted on a central column.
New Atlas described the front wheels as providing stability at low speed or while stopped. At speed, a rider can shift weight to lift the front wheels; a rear skid plate is intended to limit backward tipping. These are descriptions of the design, not independent test findings. Eyal Aloni, identified by New Atlas as the board’s creator, described the choice this way: “You can lean into all three wheels for stability, or lift the front wheels when the terrain gets rough and carve through it,” New Atlas reported on August 5, 2025.

What the reported performance does—and does not—tell you
A claimed 45-mph maximum and an advertised range of up to 18 miles do not establish what a rider will achieve on a particular route. New Atlas notes that terrain affects range, but its report does not provide independent speed or range tests, test conditions, or results for specific surfaces. Treat the figures as manufacturer claims relayed by the publication, rather than a promise of real-world performance.
The three-wheel arrangement suggests a design intended to offer a choice between keeping the front wheels down for stability and lifting them for rougher riding. The report does not establish how the Gorilla handles particular trails, obstacles, grades, or weather conditions, so it cannot support a recommendation for a specific route or riding skill level.

New Atlas reported a price of US$2,500 and said the Gorilla could be ordered through the manufacturer’s website when its article appeared on August 5, 2025. That is historical information, not confirmation of today’s price, stock, or ordering options.
The same report identifies Israeli mechanical engineer and former F-16 pilot Eyal Aloni as the creator and founder of TLTBoards, says the company was founded in 2014, and reports that its boards are manufactured in the United States. These details are reported by New Atlas and are not independently corroborated here.

Check local rules before riding
No jurisdiction-specific rules for riding the Gorilla on public roads, paths, or trails are established by the available reporting. Before riding, check current requirements with the relevant local transport authority and the land manager for any trail or off-road area you plan to use. Do not assume that an electric stand-up board is permitted wherever bicycles or other recreational vehicles are allowed.

New Atlas mentions TLTBoards’ Cruiser and gas-powered Grizzly alongside the Gorilla, but does not provide comparable specifications or enough intended-use detail to make a reliable model-by-model recommendation. A meaningful comparison would need current information on powertrain, intended use, speed and range, weight and portability, surface suitability, price, and local riding rules.
