What is the 400-hp Speed Triple RR?
It is a custom build by UK motorcycle shop Thornton Hundred, based on the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR. It should not be confused with a production Triumph variant. New Atlas reported that the project took seven months and debuted at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Thornton Hundred’s official site describes its custom-bike work, but does not confirm the current sale status or specifications of this particular one-off: Thornton Hundred.
The 400-hp figure is a reported claim about the build’s potential, not an independently established test result. Reporting differs on how to characterize it: New Atlas described a 230-hp setting alongside the claimed 400-hp peak; autoevolution reported 230 hp at the rear wheel and up to 400 hp in a track tune. Those descriptions are not interchangeable, and neither source supplies an independent dyno verification.

What makes the build unusual?
The reported hardware is a substantial custom package rather than a simple bolt-on power increase. Coverage identifies a Rotrex C30 supercharger, forged engine internals, methanol/water injection hardware, carbon components and adaptive aero. The installation is bespoke; the reports do not establish that the supercharger or other parts are an off-the-shelf fit for an ordinary Speed Triple RR.

Extended chassis for a different job
RideApart reported that the custom swingarm extends the wheelbase by 180 mm, or about 7 inches, and incorporates a five-litre methanol tank. The added length was described as serving drifting and straight-line stability. Those priorities differ from the agility and balanced cornering expected of a conventional road bike, so the stretched chassis should not be read as a general road-handling improvement.
Is it road-legal?
New Atlas and RideApart reported that the bike retained lights and road equipment and described it as road-legal. That is a report about this build, not confirmation that it meets the rules in every country or can be registered in every jurisdiction. Road legality depends on local requirements and the vehicle’s individual approval and registration status.

What was the reported price?
New Atlas and RideApart reported a £55,000 asking price in 2025. That is a historical reported offer, not a confirmed current price or proof that the one-off remains for sale. Thornton Hundred’s current official pages do not establish either point.

The production Triumph is the base platform; Thornton Hundred’s build is a one-off reworked for an unusual combination of high claimed output, drifting and straight-line stability. The available reports do not provide a controlled, like-for-like performance test against a production RR, nor evidence for ranking this custom bike against other builds. Its 400-hp headline is best understood as a claimed tune, not a verified comparison figure.
