The design vision soon took shape in Type 00, revealed in December 2024, but Type 00 was presented as a preview of future Jaguars—not as a production car for sale.
What changed in Jaguar’s new branding?
In its 21 November 2024 report, T3 described a broad visual reset: a reinterpretation of Jaguar’s logo, a new palette and typeface, plus a monogram and a device mark. Rather than treating the change as a single logo swap, the report presented it as a coordinated identity system.
The new marks and typography signaled a deliberate break with the familiar presentation of the brand. That is a visual interpretation of the changes, not a claim that Jaguar abandoned every element of its history.

Why did Jaguar rebrand?
The 2024 announcement framed the visual overhaul as part of a larger reinvention tied to a planned electric vehicle range and a more upmarket position. T3 reported that Jaguar expected its new vehicles to cost more than $100,000 (£79,000). That was an expectation reported at the time, not a confirmed current price or a published production-car starting price.

The report also connected the strategy to founder Sir William Lyons’s “copy of nothing” ethos. T3 attributes that phrase to Lyons; the exact wording should be understood as the article’s attribution, rather than as independently verified historical quotation here.
Comments in the 2024 report about charging and entertainment systems were predictions, not confirmed specifications. They should not be read as evidence that any particular feature has been delivered.

What is Jaguar Type 00?
Type 00 is Jaguar’s design vision for the direction of its future cars, not a retail production model established by the cited company material. Jaguar’s newsroom records its reveal on 3 December 2024 under the headline “JAGUAR UNVEILS TYPE 00. UNMISTAKABLE. UNEXPECTED. DRAMATIC.” Jaguar newsroom
In a 16 May 2025 release about a Tokyo installation, Jaguar described Type 00 as its “dramatic design vision” and said it “previews what is to come from Jaguar.” The company also linked the concept to Lyons’s “Copy Nothing” ethos. Those are Jaguar’s descriptions of its own concept and brand direction.

What happened after the 2024 announcement?
The chronology matters because the original report described plans and expectations that were still in the future. Jaguar’s official newsroom later recorded a Type 01 name announcement on 13 May 2026 and a luxury GT prototype update on 31 March 2026. These entries document subsequent milestones; the newsroom index does not by itself establish complete production specifications, final prices, delivery dates or availability by market. In the May 2025 release, Jaguar Managing Director Rawdon Glover said: “The debut of Jaguar Type 00 in Tokyo demonstrates our commitment to the Asian region, with Japan having long been a key market for Jaguar.” That statement describes Jaguar’s stated rationale for the Tokyo presentation, not a sales result.

When will the new electric Jaguar be available?
The sources cited here do not establish a current production or customer-delivery date. The late-2024 report anticipated a future electric range, and later newsroom entries record concept and prototype milestones, but neither those entries nor Jaguar’s May 2025 description of Type 00 as a design vision confirm when a production vehicle will reach buyers. Treat any date as provisional unless Jaguar publishes a dated, market-specific sales or delivery announcement.

What the rebrand does—and does not—tell buyers
