What the $99 ID.4 lease actually offered
TopSpeed reported on July 25, 2025 that Volkswagen Garden Grove advertised a lease on a 2025 ID.4 Pro RWD at $99 per month for 24 months, with $2,995 down and taxes extra. The article said the dealer’s calculation included a $5,000 cash-back bonus. This was one dealer’s reported offer, not evidence of a national lease rate. TopSpeed’s report does not establish that the offer remained available after publication.
The upfront payment changes the comparison
Adding the reported down payment to the scheduled payments gives $5,371 before tax: $99 × 24 + $2,995. Dividing that total by 24 gives roughly $224 per month before tax. This is a simple calculation from the advertised figures, not a complete lease cost: the report does not state all fees or contract terms.
What Volkswagen lists now
As of October 8, 2026, Volkswagen’s U.S. offers page lists a $12,500 customer bonus for a new, unused 2025 ID.4 and a $6,000 customer bonus for a new, unused 2026 ID.4. The offers are listed for purchases or leases through participating dealers from September 1 through November 2, 2026, and Volkswagen describes inventory as very limited. These are customer bonuses, not promised monthly lease payments. Whether a bonus applies to a particular vehicle or lease structure—and whether it combines with a dealer discount or another incentive—needs confirmation from the dealer in a written quote. What to check before comparing a lease quote
A low advertised payment is not enough to determine whether two lease offers are comparable. Ask the dealer for a written quote and check each of these terms:
- Total due at signing, including any capitalized-cost reduction, fees, and first payment.
- Monthly payment, lease term, and whether taxes are included.
- Annual mileage allowance and the charge for miles over the limit.
- Wear-and-use rules and end-of-lease purchase or return terms.
- Exact ID.4 trim and drivetrain, the vehicle’s availability, and the incentives applied.
- Any eligibility conditions and all dealer, acquisition, or disposition fees.
The 2025 Garden Grove report does not state the offer’s mileage allowance, residual value, complete fees, or required credit tier. Those details should not be assumed when estimating the total cost or comparing the historical ad with a current offer.

2026 range and charging details are separate from the old offer
Volkswagen’s 2026 model information lists EPA-estimated range of 291 miles for the ID.4 Pro and Pro S, and 263 miles for AWD Pro, AWD Pro S, and AWD Pro S Plus. These are 2026 model figures; they should not be attributed to the 2025 Pro RWD in the historical lease advertisement.
Volkswagen also describes a 24-month Electrify America Pass+ charging plan for eligible new 2026 vehicles purchased from an authorized U.S. Volkswagen dealer. The page says a Volkswagen-approved NACS DC adapter is sold separately for compatible ID.4s to use designated Tesla Supercharger locations. Check vehicle compatibility and the current program terms before relying on either detail.
