What does it cost to own an LC 500 for five years?
Edmunds’ live estimate, accessed October 8, 2026, puts five-year ownership at $122,617 for a 2026 LC 500 coupe and $126,038 for the convertible. Both figures assume 15,000 miles per year. Edmunds includes purchase-related and ownership costs such as depreciation, financing, taxes and fees, fuel, insurance, maintenance, and repairs.
For the 2026 coupe, Edmunds’ category estimates are:
| Cost category | Five-year estimate |
|---|---|
| Depreciation | $56,406 |

| Insurance | $6,371 |

These are Edmunds estimates, not fixed bills. Its framework assumes a traditional loan rather than a lease, above-average credit, 10% down, a 60-month term, and 15,000 miles annually. Edmunds describes total cost to own as a comparative tool, not a prediction. Your purchase price, location, driving, coverage, financing, and the car’s condition can change the result. What is the LC 500’s starting price?
Lexus announced a U.S. starting MSRP of $101,800 for the 2026 LC 500, including $1,550 for delivery, processing, and handling. The manufacturer’s figure is a starting price, not a guaranteed transaction price; options, dealer terms, taxes, and financing can raise what an individual pays. Lexus’ 2026 LC 500 announcement was published July 18, 2025, and its newsroom page shows an update dated May 1, 2026.
Why depreciation changes the ownership total
Edmunds assigns $56,406 of the 2026 coupe’s five-year estimate to depreciation—the modeled loss in vehicle value. It is not money paid to a repair shop or lender, but it matters when comparing the purchase price with what the car may be worth later. Actual resale value depends on the price paid, mileage, condition, and market conditions; the estimate is not a guaranteed future value.

How fuel, insurance, maintenance, and repairs add up
Fuel
Edmunds estimates $18,132 in fuel over five years for the 2026 coupe under its 15,000-mile-per-year assumptions. Lexus’ 2025 LC brochure says its stated ratings are achieved using premium unleaded gasoline rated at least 91 octane and warns, “If premium fuel is not used, performance will decrease.” Your fuel bill will depend on mileage, local prices, and driving conditions. Insurance
Edmunds estimates $6,371 for five years of coupe insurance. That is a modeled average, not a quote for a particular driver. Age, driving history, address, coverage, and insurer affect the premium; get quotes using the driver and garaging details that apply to you.

Maintenance and repairs
Edmunds separates estimated maintenance ($10,310) from repairs ($836) for the 2026 coupe over five years. Lexus’ 2025 LC brochure says the first two scheduled maintenance visits are complimentary, at the earlier of six months or 5,000 miles and 12 months or 10,000 miles. The same brochure lists a four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty and a six-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty. These terms are from the 2025 brochure; check the warranty and service guide for the vehicle’s model year and market before relying on them. Lexus’ 2025 LC brochure

This is a separate model-year estimate from a different tool, not a controlled comparison with Edmunds’ 2026 figures. The two totals should not be blended or treated as competing quotes for the same car. Differences can reflect model year, prices and resale assumptions, financing, taxes and fees, mileage, and estimating methodology. To compare estimates meaningfully, align the model year and body style, annual mileage and time horizon, purchase and resale assumptions, financing, geography, and insurance profile.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to estimate your own LC 500 budget
- Start with the actual car and price. Use the dealer’s written price, selected options, and intended body style rather than the starting MSRP alone.
- Replace the mileage assumption. Edmunds’ headline estimate uses 15,000 miles per year; use your expected annual driving when the calculator allows it.
- Use your own financing and local costs. Substitute your loan terms and location-specific taxes and registration fees for modeled assumptions.
- Get insurance quotes. Provide your driver details, address, and desired coverage; a national modeled figure cannot predict your premium.
- Budget for fuel and service. Use local prices for 91-octane-or-higher premium gasoline and check the applicable model-year maintenance schedule and included-visit terms.
- Revisit the resale assumption. Depreciation depends on what you pay and what the car is worth when you sell; treat any five-year estimate as a planning scenario, not a promise.
Until those inputs are known, the Edmunds and KBB figures are useful reference points, but neither establishes what a particular owner will actually spend.
