The third-generation Jeep Compass is a substantial redesign: Jeep has moved the European model to Stellantis’s STLA Medium platform, announced hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains, and increased passenger and cargo space. Jeep says its electric lineup will offer up to 650 km of range and as much as 375 hp, but those are lineup-wide manufacturer claims—not figures for every version. The detailed price and specification example available here is for Ireland; North American timing and specifications remain unconfirmed in the official material cited below.
What’s new in the next Jeep Compass?
Jeep introduced the third-generation Compass in May 2025. The European-market model uses Stellantis’s STLA Medium platform and is produced at Melfi, Italy. Stellantis announced that production began there on 29 October 2025. Jeep says 2.5 million Compass vehicles have been sold worldwide since the nameplate debuted in 2006.
The central change is a broader powertrain range, accompanied by more room and updated cabin technology. Jeep’s figures are manufacturer-published claims, not independent test results.
Three kinds of powertrain
Jeep announced a 145 hp 48-volt e-Hybrid, a 195 hp plug-in hybrid, and three battery-electric versions. Across the announced BEV lineup, Jeep lists power from 213 hp in front-wheel drive to 375 hp in all-wheel drive, with a maximum advertised range of up to 650 km. The top power and range are maximums for the lineup; they should not be read as the specification of one trim or as an independently tested result.

More room and updated technology
Jeep gives the new Compass an overall length of 4.55 m and says it adds 55 mm of legroom. Boot capacity is listed at up to 550 litres—45 litres more than before—and the rear seat has a 40/20/40 split. Jeep also specifies a 34-litre front storage compartment.
The company says the lineup includes a 10-inch instrument cluster, a 16-inch infotainment display, connected services with over-the-air updates, and Level 2 driver assistance. Equipment can vary by market and trim, so check the local specification rather than assuming every feature is standard on every Compass.

How far can the electric Jeep Compass go?
Jeep announced a maximum BEV range of up to 650 km for the electric lineup in 2025. That is a manufacturer-announced maximum, not the Ireland retail-list figure for its specific 74 kWh, 213 hp, front-wheel-drive version.
Jeep Ireland’s April 2026 price list gives that configuration a WLTP combined range of 477–498 km and energy consumption of 17.5–18.2 kWh/100 km. These are homologated figures for the listed Irish-market vehicle, not a guarantee of range in everyday driving. Homologation values and real-world results can differ, and the document notes that values may change.

What capability figures has Jeep announced?
Jeep’s May 2025 launch announcement listed up to 200 mm of ground clearance, a 20° approach angle, 15° breakover angle, 26° departure angle, and water-fording depth of up to 470 mm for the general lineup. It gave stronger approach, breakover and departure figures for AWD versions.

Stellantis’s 29 October 2025 production announcement instead described ground clearance higher than 200 mm and water-fording capability up to 480 mm. Those two releases report different water-fording figures; they should not be blended into a single definitive specification. Both are manufacturer claims, not independent tests.

These are Ireland-specific listed prices, not prices for other European countries or North America. Incentives, taxes, trim availability and final on-road costs differ by market; use the local Jeep price list when comparing versions.
When will the new Jeep Compass be available in the US?
Jeep’s May 2025 announcement said the new model would launch in Europe first, followed by expansion to other markets. A 2024 Jeep preview had planned North American and other-market production expansion in 2026, and Stellantis’s 2026 corporate update mentions the next-generation Compass among its product actions. However, the official material cited here does not establish a North American launch date or confirm that a North American Compass will match the European model.
Accordingly, the European platform, powertrains, advertised range, equipment and Irish prices should not be treated as confirmed North American specifications. Buyers in the US should wait for market-specific details from Jeep.
