But the year-over-year gain was just 0.9%: the “monster seller” description fits its sales volume better than its growth rate.
How many Mazda CX-90s were sold in 2025?
Mazda North American Operations reported 55,156 U.S. CX-90 sales for calendar 2025, up from 54,676 in 2024. The company’s published comparison was a 0.9% increase. These are Mazda-reported U.S. sales totals—not global sales, household deliveries, or registrations. Mazda’s full-year sales release provides both annual figures.

Did CX-90 sales grow quickly in 2025?
No. The full-year increase was modest, even though some earlier comparisons looked much stronger. Mazda said April 2025 was the CX-90’s best-ever April, with 5,402 sold that month. Its May sales release put the January–May total at 24,601, up 34.6% from the same period in 2024. Those are period-specific milestones, not the final year-over-year growth rate. April results and May results show the shorter windows.
Monthly and year-to-date comparisons can be affected by the period chosen and selling-day differences. The annual comparison is the clearest answer to whether CX-90 sales grew in 2025: yes, but by less than 1%.

How did the CX-90 compare with Mazda overall?
Mazda reported 410,346 total U.S. vehicle sales in 2025, down 3.3% from 2024, while CX-90 sales edged up. That contrast shows the model held its ground while the brand’s total volume declined. It does not establish the CX-90’s rank among three-row SUVs, its market share, profitability, or customer satisfaction.
Why might you not see many CX-90s on the road?
A count of 55,156 is meaningful for Mazda, but it does not tell you how visible the CX-90 should be in your neighborhood. The available sales figures do not compare it with competing SUVs, break out local sales, or show how many examples are on the road at a given time. They support describing the CX-90 as a substantial-volume Mazda model—not claiming it dominates the three-row SUV market.

What was new on the 2025 CX-90?
Mazda announced 2025 CX-90 pricing and packaging on July 30, 2024, citing package and safety-technology updates and additional seating choices. The announcement listed a starting MSRP of $38,045, which is historical launch pricing—not a current sticker price or an estimate of what buyers typically paid. Mazda’s 2025 model announcement describes the launch lineup.
The announcement also described multiple powertrain and trim configurations. It identified Sport, Off Road, and Towing Mi-Drive modes on the 3.3 Turbo Premium Sport. Mazda said maximum towing capacity increases from 3,500 to 5,000 pounds with Mazda Genuine Towing Accessories. That 5,000-pound rating should not be generalized to every CX-90 configuration or assumed for a vehicle fitted with any aftermarket hitch.
