The Honda That Feels More Luxurious Than a Toyota (and It’s Not an Acura)

The 2026 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid adds premium-leaning comfort and tech to a mainstream sedan. Here’s what it offers and how its Toyota comparison holds up.

The Honda in question is the 2026 Accord Touring Hybrid. It is still a mainstream Honda sedan, not a luxury car, but its top-trim equipment—such as ventilated front seats, a head-up display, and Google built-in—makes it the Accord to look at if comfort and technology are the point of comparison.

Why the 2026 Accord Touring Hybrid gets the upscale comparison

The Touring Hybrid is the highest trim in the 2026 Accord lineup. Honda equips it with a collection of features often associated with more premium cars, including a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated outboard rear seats, rain-sensing wipers, and a head-up display. Google built-in is also included.

That equipment supports calling the Accord well-appointed, but “more luxurious than a Toyota” is a feature-based description—not an objective luxury ranking. The Accord remains a mainstream sedan, and Honda’s published comparison with the Toyota Camry covers selected features rather than every aspect of luxury, comfort, or driving experience.

What Honda’s Camry comparison does—and doesn’t—show

Honda’s 2026 Accord-versus-Camry chart highlights two specific differences: a moonroof is standard on Accord SE and higher trims, while Honda says it costs extra across Camry trims; and Google built-in is standard on the Accord Touring Hybrid but listed as unavailable on Camry trims in Honda’s comparison. Honda’s comparison is manufacturer-published, so treat it as a limited equipment comparison, not an independent verdict that the Accord is universally more luxurious.

2026 Accord trims, prices, and powertrains

Honda’s 2026 lineup comprises six trims. LX and SE use a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring are hybrids; Honda lists the hybrid system at 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of total system output.

What changed for the 2026 model

Honda said the 2026 Accord began arriving at dealerships with a larger 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger. The company also reported that more than 50% of Accord sales are hybrid-electric trims; Honda’s December 18, 2025 announcement does not specify a separate measurement period for that figure.
