Bugatti ended Chiron production with L’Ultime, a one-off Chiron Super Sport that the company announced on 30 May 2024 as the 500th and final car in the series. Its bespoke exterior turns the model’s history into a visual timeline, from its launch to its record-setting run and home in Molsheim. The end is of the Chiron production era—not of Bugatti making cars.
What is the last-ever Bugatti Chiron?
L’Ultime is the final Chiron, hand-assembled at Bugatti’s home in Molsheim, France. Bugatti identifies it as a Chiron Super Sport and says the Chiron run was limited to 500 cars. The company announced the completed final example on 30 May 2024.
The name, French for “the ultimate” or “the last,” fits its place in the production run: L’Ultime is not a separate successor model, but the final car built in the Chiron series.
How does L’Ultime reflect the Chiron’s history?
Bugatti gave the final car a bespoke exterior that refers to places and moments from the Chiron’s story. Its markings form a timeline rather than simply decorating the car with the model name.

The final-production number is worked into the details, too. Bugatti says the handwritten “500” appears on the exterior, wheel caps and rear wing, and is engraved on the engine cover.
Why does the final Chiron matter?
Bugatti framed the end of production as the close of a performance era. In its 30 May 2024 announcement, the company called the Chiron “the first 1,500 PS roadgoing car” and “the first production car to surpass 300 mph.” Those are Bugatti’s descriptions of the model’s milestones.

The final car also closes a defined production run: the 500th Chiron is L’Ultime. Bugatti had already said the run was moving into its final phase in 2021, when it reported that fewer than 40 Chirons remained available to order. That was a figure for orders at the time, not a statement about present-day availability.
Did Bugatti stop making cars after the Chiron?
No. The end of Chiron production is not the end of Bugatti as a carmaker. Bugatti described the completion of L’Ultime as coming as the company prepared for a new era. The announcement establishes that the Chiron run concluded; it does not mean the company ceased making cars.

What is known about L’Ultime today?
Bugatti’s announcement identifies the final car and describes its bespoke details, but does not establish its current owner, resale status, auction history or market value. Those details should not be inferred from its status as the last Chiron.
