But the company’s 2017 SEC filing described an early drivable prototype—not a finished production car—and said its design and manufacturing plans were still incomplete. Its advertised battery and range figures were proposals, not certified results.
What was the Dubuc Tomahawk?
Dubuc Motors proposed the Tomahawk as a 2+2 electric sports car: a vehicle intended to pair sports-car styling and performance with room for four. The company described an all-wheel-drive, dual-motor powertrain and planned changes to its platform and body. In its 2017 Form 1-A filing with the SEC, Dubuc framed the car as a developing project, not a vehicle already ready for customers.
The four-seat layout was central to the concept. Dubuc’s earlier campaign materials promoted the Tomahawk as a luxurious, connected EV that could occupy a niche between electric cars and high-performance sports cars. Those materials record the company’s positioning and ambitions, not independent proof that the car met those promises. The campaign appeared in a 2016 SEC exhibit.
What stage had development reached?
In the 2017 filing, Dubuc said it had a drivable early prototype. The same filing acknowledged that the company had not completed a full production vehicle or finalized the design. It also said the manufacturing facility and manufacturing processes were not yet in place as specified for production. A prototype that can be driven is a meaningful development step, but it is not evidence of a completed, certified, or commercially available car.

Were the Tomahawk’s battery and range verified?
No. Dubuc proposed increasing the lithium-ion battery from 60 kWh to 100 kWh and estimated a range of approximately 370 miles. These were company figures in the 2017 filing, not results from a certified production vehicle. Dubuc explicitly cautioned: “We have not tested the actual range of our vehicles which is one of the items which will be confirmed when the Tomahawk undergoes government certification.” The filing does not establish that certification or range testing later took place.
Did the Dubuc Tomahawk ever go into production?
The available records cited here do not answer that question. The 2017 filing documents a proposed vehicle and an early prototype, while the 2016 exhibit describes Dubuc’s campaign positioning. Neither establishes what happened after those disclosures. They do not confirm whether the company or Tomahawk is active now, whether production began, or what final specifications might have been.

What Dubuc was trying to build
Dubuc’s pitch combined three ideas: an American-styled electric sports car, a premium and connected cabin, and the practicality of a 2+2 layout. In the 2016 campaign exhibit, CEO Mike Kakogiannakis said the company wanted to be “the reference in the electric sports car market.” That statement is best read as an expression of ambition, not an independent assessment of the Tomahawk’s engineering or market position.
The gap between that vision and the disclosed development stage is the key to understanding the project. The company had described a drivable prototype, but its own 2017 filing still identified major steps before production: finalizing the design, completing the production vehicle, and establishing manufacturing capability. The figures promoted for battery capacity and range likewise remained proposed specifications rather than verified performance.
