A pair of oversized googly eyes can turn the Cybertruck’s blunt, angular front into a comic face. That is the joke behind one owner’s 2024 photo poll—and “much improved” is an aesthetic opinion, not a claim that the truck works better.
How googly eyes changed the Cybertruck’s expression
In an August 7, 2024, report, Futurism’s Maggie Harrison Dupré described a Cybertruck owner posting photos with several googly-eye placements and inviting people to choose a favorite. The owner’s poll asked: “Vote for your favorite [googly] eye placement on the Cybertruck.” The report says the giant craft eyes came from Amazon; it also notes that some readers were less enthusiastic. Read the Futurism report.
The transformation is visual: eyes make the vehicle’s broad, geometric face look wide-eyed, surprised, or a little bewildered. Whether that makes the truck look better is entirely a matter of taste. The photos and poll document a real cosmetic modification, not a product review or a controlled test.
Which eye placement looks best?
The owner’s different arrangements make spacing the natural point of comparison. Eyes set farther apart can read as wide-eyed; eyes closer together can give the front a narrower, more comic expression. There is no objectively correct placement—the fun is in comparing the faces the angles create.

What to know before adding decoration
The story identifies large craft googly eyes, but does not identify a specific product listing, vehicle-grade adhesive, or verified attachment method. It does not establish whether the eyes or their adhesive suit the Cybertruck’s exterior, how they handle weather or driving speeds, whether they affect the surface, or whether they have warranty implications. No installation was tested. Do not assume a craft item is designed to stay attached to a moving vehicle.
Keep any decoration clear of cameras and other safety equipment. Tesla’s North American Cybertruck Owner’s Manual, software version 2026.32 as displayed on October 8, 2026, identifies a front-facing camera above the grille and warns that a dirty or obstructed lens can reduce camera performance. Tesla says, “Never depend on the cameras to inform you if the area around you is free of objects and/or people.” The manual calls the cameras guidance and directs drivers to inspect the area directly. NHTSA separately warns against decorative decals on steering-wheel airbag covers because a detached decal can become a projectile during airbag deployment and alterations can affect airbag function. That warning concerns steering-wheel airbag-cover decals; it is not evidence about exterior googly eyes. Read NHTSA’s consumer alert.
