The Crew 2’s Hybrid Mode launched on October 16, 2025. It lets players choose an offline mode, with some features unavailable and offline progress saved locally. The Crew Motorfest’s offline mode is a different story: Ubisoft promised one in 2024, but its cited official announcements do not give a release date. Ubisoft says the announced Nintendo Switch 2 edition requires an online connection.
Is The Crew 2’s offline mode available?
Yes. Ubisoft made The Crew 2 Hybrid Mode available on October 16, 2025. At launch, choose between Online Mode and Offline Mode. Ubisoft describes the offline option as a way to play without an internet connection; this is the publisher’s description, not a separate independent test. Ubisoft’s showcase recap confirms the launch date, while its patch note details the mode’s behavior and limitations.

What remains playable offline
Offline Mode keeps core activities including exploration, events, vehicles and customization. It is not a full copy of the online experience: multiplayer activities such as Summits and Live Battle, online data such as leaderboards, ghosts and world records, and user-created races and liveries are unavailable. The Far & Beyond Shop and community features including photo sharing, highlights and recommended shops are unavailable too. Ubisoft’s patch note lists these exclusions.
How offline progress and saves work
Offline progress is saved locally and separately from online progression. If you reconnect and create an updated offline save from your online progress, Ubisoft says that new save replaces the progress made offline. Treat the two tracks carefully: updating from online can overwrite offline-only progress. Ubisoft’s patch note also describes mode indicators and save-management menus; consult the in-game prompts before generating a replacement save.

When is The Crew Motorfest getting offline mode?
Ubisoft has not announced a release date in the official material cited here. On September 10, 2024, the publisher said both The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest would remain playable for years and receive offline modes in the future. That was a commitment without a dated Motorfest schedule. Ubisoft’s October 2025 showcase recap covers Motorfest Year 3 content but does not announce an offline-mode launch date.
There is a useful platform-specific detail: Ubisoft’s July 8, 2026 announcement for The Crew Motorfest on Nintendo Switch 2 says, “An online connection is required to play the game.” It identifies a requirement for that announced Switch 2 edition; it should not be generalized to every Motorfest platform without platform-specific evidence. The same announcement says the Switch 2 edition is available in physical retail and digital forms. If considering The Crew Motorfest Nintendo Switch 2 physical game, plan on needing an online connection to play, according to Ubisoft.

What Ubisoft has—and has not—confirmed
The key distinction is between a future promise and a launch announcement. Ubisoft’s September 2024 statement supports saying Motorfest is intended to receive an offline mode; it does not support naming a launch date. The October 2025 showcase recap confirms The Crew 2’s Hybrid Mode launch, not Motorfest offline availability. The Switch 2 online requirement is specific to that edition and is not proof of the requirements for every other platform.
