Four 2024 concept debuts stand out for making their design ideas visible: Genesis’s doorless-sided Neolun and performance-themed GV60 Magma, Renault’s aerodynamic Emblème, and Kia’s sharply geometric EV3 Concept. This is a taste-based shortlist, not a complete global ranking; each pick earns its place through a distinctive silhouette, body treatment or design purpose documented by its maker.
How this shortlist is judged
“Coolest-looking” is subjective, so the choices below focus on details you can see and on the design idea behind them: silhouette and stance, doors and surfacing, glass and lighting, interior concept, and any documented aerodynamic or performance purpose. The order reflects design preference, not a measured score.
1. Genesis Neolun Concept: a clean-sided SUV with coach doors
Genesis gave the Neolun its global debut at Genesis House New York in March 2024, describing it as the brand’s first full-size electric SUV concept. Its strongest visual move is the B-pillarless coach-door layout: with no conventional center pillar interrupting the side opening, the doors make the large SUV’s profile feel unusually open and formal. Genesis pairs that architecture with what it calls “reductive design”—clean lines and restrained surfacing rather than a busy collection of creases. Genesis’s March 2024 announcement and its Neolun concept page also describe radiant heating inspired by Korea’s traditional ondol system. The heating is a functional concept detail, not an exterior styling feature, but it gives the minimalist cabin idea a cultural reference.
2. Genesis GV60 Magma Concept: the performance direction made visible
Unveiled alongside the Neolun in March 2024, the GV60 Magma presents a more performance-oriented visual direction for Genesis’s existing GV60. The point of this concept is less a radical new silhouette than the change in character: it signals a high-performance design and technology program, which Genesis launched under the Magma name. The joint unveiling announcement and the brand’s Magma overview support that positioning. They do not establish dimensions or performance figures for this concept, so its appeal here is the design statement rather than a specification-sheet comparison.

3. Renault Emblème: aerodynamic thinking shaped like a family car
Renault announced the Emblème on 4 October 2024 as a vision for a family car combining battery-electric and fuel-cell technology. What makes its design especially interesting is that aerodynamics are presented as part of the form, not an afterthought: Renault’s later design account highlights a flat underbody and an active diffuser, and describes work involving design, technical and aerodynamics teams, with expertise from BWT Alpine Formula One Team. Those are Renault’s descriptions of the concept, not independent assessments. Renault’s German-language announcement states a 90% reduction in lifecycle CO₂-equivalent emissions against an equivalent vehicle and a five-tonne lifecycle total. These are Renault’s 2024 figures and comparison, not independently verified results.

4. Kia EV3 Concept: geometric arches and a floating-roof effect
Kia’s EV3 Concept makes its visual character easy to read: squared, asymmetrical wheel arches give the body a deliberately geometric stance, while a wrap-around windscreen and disconnected C-pillar create what Kia describes as a floating-roof impression. The concept’s interior continues the material-focused approach, with plant-derived materials and natural-fiber structures cited on Kia’s EV3 Concept page. Kia explicitly says the concept vehicle is not available for purchase; it should not be confused with a production EV3.
