The modern Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is sold out: Alfa Romeo says all 33 cars in its limited series have been allocated and no further orders can be placed. For shoppers drawn to its design, rarity or performance, the Maserati MC20 is the closest conceptual alternative in this comparison; the Ferrari 296 GTB is the more distinct choice for plug-in hybrid power. Neither is a like-for-like substitute for the Alfa’s bespoke, limited-production status.
What makes the 33 Stradale difficult to replace?
The 33 Stradale combines a mid-engined V6 supercar format with an exceptionally small production run and an owner-involved, handcrafted approach. Alfa Romeo describes the work as Bottega craftsmanship; its U.S. delivery announcement says production is artisan-led and involves Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. That provenance is part of the appeal, not just a specification to match.
Alfa Romeo’s current 33 Stradale model page states that the limited series of 33 is sold out. On May 12, 2026, Alfa Romeo USA reported two handoffs: a U.S. customer delivery and a production car displayed at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, Italy, in its delivery announcement.
Published output depends on which Alfa Romeo source you use. The global model page lists a 620 HP 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6, a 333 km/h top speed and 0–100 km/h in under 3 seconds. The May 2026 U.S. release says 630 horsepower. Those are separately attributed manufacturer figures; the sources do not explain the difference, so they should not be silently combined into a single settled specification.

How the alternatives compare
| Car | Powertrain and output | Manufacturer performance figures | What it offers as an alternative |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale | 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6; 620 HP on Alfa Romeo’s global model page. Alfa Romeo USA’s May 2026 release says 630 horsepower. | Global page: 333 km/h and 0–100 km/h in under 3 seconds. | Reference point for this comparison: rare, handcrafted and sold out. |
| Maserati MC20 | V6 super sports car. Maserati’s global/UK material gives 630 metric HP; its U.S. page gives 621 HP. | Regional specifications vary. Maserati’s linked regional pages should be checked for the relevant market and units. | Closest conceptual match here: a V6 supercar with a road-to-track range of driving modes. |
| Ferrari 296 GTB | Plug-in hybrid with a 120-degree V6; 830 cv combined output and 740 Nm. | Ferrari lists 0–100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a maximum speed above 330 km/h. | The electrified-performance choice, rather than a direct match for the Alfa’s identity. |
The figures are manufacturer-published, not results from independent, back-to-back testing. HP, metric horsepower and cv are not interchangeable labels, and regional specifications matter; use the figures as descriptions of each maker’s claims rather than as a definitive performance ranking.
Maserati MC20: the closest conceptual alternative
The MC20 shares the broad recipe most relevant to a 33 Stradale shopper: a V6 super sports car, rather than a hybrid powertrain, with an emphasis on dramatic performance. Maserati’s MC20 model page describes four drive modes: GT, Sport, Corsa and Wet. Maserati characterizes GT as comfort-oriented and Corsa as its most extreme mode, with Sport positioned for track use.

- IDEAL AS A GIFT: Are you looking for the ideal gift for a car lover? A high-quality model car in scale 1:43 is the perfect choice! It will delight him and enrich his collection.
- BBURAGO: The iconic brand for scale model diecast vehicles with licenses from the largest automobile manufacturers. Their models have contributed to the growing up of children around the world as well as to the passion of adults and great vehicle collectors.
That range makes the MC20 a useful option for someone seeking a car framed for both road use and more focused driving. It does not establish how the cars compare in real-world comfort, handling or lap times: no independent comparative test is available here. Nor does the shared V6 identity make the MC20 equivalent to the Alfa’s limited run or bespoke production story.
Power figures need a market label. Maserati’s global/UK material gives 630 metric HP, while its U.S. page lists 621 HP. Check the specification for the car’s sales market rather than treating those numbers as a contradiction resolved by choosing one.

Ferrari 296 GTB: the plug-in hybrid alternative
The 296 GTB suits a different priority: electrified power alongside a V6. Ferrari’s technical sheet specifies a 120-degree V6 plug-in hybrid system with 830 cv combined output and 740 Nm. Ferrari gives 0–100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a maximum speed above 330 km/h.
Those figures make the Ferrari a relevant alternative if the aim is supercar performance with plug-in hybrid propulsion, not if the aim is to reproduce the 33 Stradale’s powertrain character or scarce, handcrafted provenance. The published figures are Ferrari’s own specifications; they are not a comparative test against either Alfa Romeo or Maserati.

Which one fits your reason for wanting the Alfa?
- You want the closest broad concept: Start with the Maserati MC20. Its V6 super-sports-car format and selectable road-to-track modes make it the nearest match among these two candidates.
- You want hybrid propulsion: Consider the Ferrari 296 GTB. Its plug-in hybrid V6 is a meaningful difference, not a small variation on the Alfa’s twin-turbo-V6 identity.
- You want the Alfa’s exact rarity and provenance: Neither car reproduces that. The 33 Stradale allocation is sold out, and the production and customization story is specific to Alfa Romeo’s project.
These are focused comparisons, not a comprehensive ranking of every exotic car on sale. The cited manufacturer pages establish neither local inventory nor current prices for the MC20 or 296 GTB. Availability and pricing depend on market and date, so confirm them with a local dealer before treating either as an orderable option.

In a May 25, 2026 statement, Stellantis said a new exclusive “few-off” project under BOTTEGAFUORISERIE would follow the 33 Stradale. The statement does not provide a model name, specifications, pricing or timing, so it is not yet a concrete alternative to compare or plan to buy. See the Stellantis statement for the announcement.
