Which Audi RS 6 had the twin-turbo V10?
It was the second-generation RS 6, known as the C6 and sold from 2008 to 2010. Audi offered it as both an Avant wagon and a sedan, so the V10 was not exclusive to the wagon. Audi’s model history identifies the C6 era in its RS 6 history.
What made the C6 RS 6 unusual?
At its heart was a 5.0-liter direct-injection V10 with two turbochargers. Audi rated it at 426 kW (580 PS) and 650 Nm. The engine was developed specifically for the RS 6, and its dry-sump lubrication system was intended to help maintain oil supply under high lateral acceleration. Audi’s technical retrospective gives the factory specifications and engineering details in 20 years of the Audi RS 6.
Former RS 6 development leader Stephan Reil described the layout this way: “With its two turbochargers and manifolds, the V10 already looks like a work of art.” Audi also says the dry-sump approach was adapted from motorsport.

What were its factory performance figures?
Audi quoted 4.6 seconds for the standard 0–100 km/h sprint and a 280 km/h top speed for the C6 RS 6. Those are manufacturer figures, not measured quarter-mile times. A later RS 6 plus equipment line had a quoted top speed of 303 km/h; that higher figure should not be applied to every C6. See Audi’s technical retrospective for the distinctions.
Did a stock Audi RS 6 beat supercars in the quarter-mile?
That claim is not verified by the sources available for this article. A stock-car claim needs a documented race or test that names the opposing cars, identifies each vehicle’s specification and modifications, and reports comparable conditions and timing. Audi’s acceleration and top-speed specifications cannot substantiate a quarter-mile victory.

Road & Track, in a 2019 article, relayed an Autocar test figure of 13.3 seconds at 124 mph for the RS 6, while noting that it was around two seconds behind the other cars in the comparison it described. Because this is a secondary citation to an Autocar test, it should not be treated as definitive without the original test. The report is available at Road & Track.
A separate 2026 report by Carfooly Média attributes a 12.4-second run to a prepared RS 6 described as having 780 hp in a V10 drag comparison. That is a modified-car report, not proof of stock performance, and does not establish that the RS 6 beat a general class of supercars. The secondary report is at Carfooly Média.

How to judge a quarter-mile comparison
A credible comparison should identify the exact RS 6 and opponents, whether each was stock or modified, drivetrain and tire setup where reported, the timing source, and both elapsed time and trap speed when available. Without those details and a primary record of the race, the broad headline claim should be treated as unconfirmed rather than as a factory performance fact.
