Yes—the 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S is a hybrid, but it is not presented as a conventional plug-in hybrid. Porsche’s T-Hybrid system pairs a 3.6-litre flat-six with two electric turbochargers, a 1.9 kWh battery and an electric motor built into the eight-speed PDK. Porsche quotes 523 kW (711 PS) for European materials and 701 hp for its U.S. launch, and reports a 7:03.92 Nürburgring Nordschleife lap. Those are manufacturer figures, not independent test results.
What kind of hybrid is the new Turbo S?
The Turbo S uses Porsche’s 400-volt T-Hybrid architecture as a performance system. Porsche’s powertrain press-kit page describes a newly developed 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, two specially designed electric turbochargers, a 1.9 kWh high-voltage battery and an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed PDK transmission.
The integrated motor can contribute drive through the transmission, while the electric turbochargers use electric assistance to build boost. In Porsche’s description, the two eTurbochargers distinguish the Turbo S system from the T-Hybrid introduced on the 911 Carrera GTS in 2024, which used one. The battery sits at the front for weight distribution and, Porsche says, is similar in size and weight to a conventional starter battery.
The cited Porsche material describes a compact high-voltage battery and does not frame the Turbo S as a plug-in model. Its central story is electric assistance for response and performance, not an advertised electric-only driving range.

How fast is it, according to Porsche?
Porsche’s European press-kit figures and U.S. launch figures use different unit systems and acceleration intervals. They should be read in their stated markets rather than mixed into one specification set.
| Measure | European press-kit figure | U.S. launch figure |
|---|---|---|
| System output | 523 kW (711 PS) | 701 hp |
| Maximum torque | 800 Nm | Not stated in the cited U.S. launch figures |
| Acceleration | 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds | 0–60 mph in 2.4 seconds |
| Higher-speed acceleration | 0–200 km/h in 8.4 seconds | 0–124 mph in 8.4 seconds |
| Top speed | 322 km/h | Not stated in the cited U.S. launch figures |
These are Porsche-reported specifications, not results from a comparable independent test. PS and mechanical horsepower are different units; the table retains Porsche’s regional figures rather than treating them as interchangeable. Porsche also gives the engine’s peak-torque band as 2,300–6,000 rpm and peak system output as 6,500–7,000 rpm in its powertrain press-kit material.

What Nürburgring time did it set?
Porsche reports an official 7:03.92-minute lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife, achieved during final development drives in autumn 2024. The company says the time is about 14 seconds quicker than the predecessor. This is Porsche’s manufacturer-reported lap claim; it should not be presented as an independent test or compared with another car’s time without checking course configuration, timing basis and conditions.
Porsche attributes the performance package to more than the hybrid powertrain. Its suspension and performance press-kit page describes revised front and rear sections, an active front diffuser, a revised rear wing and standard electrohydraulic roll stabilization (ehPDCC). Porsche says the high-voltage system enables that active stabilization system.

What changed—and what is the trade-off?
The headline change is electrification: the Turbo S moves to a 400 V system with two electric turbochargers and a transmission-integrated motor, while Porsche also revises the chassis and aerodynamic package. The added hardware has a mass cost. Porsche’s U.S. launch announcement reports a curb weight of 3,829 lb, 180 lb more than the predecessor. That U.S. figure puts the speed claims in context: Porsche’s gains come with a heavier car, alongside the powertrain, aero and suspension changes.

Porsche lists European combined WLTP figures, which are test-cycle values rather than promises of real-world economy. Its press-kit highlights give the following ranges:
Rank #4
- Collectable Scale Diecast Model
| Body style | Combined fuel consumption (WLTP) | Combined CO₂ emissions (WLTP) | CO₂ class |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coupé | 11.7–11.5 l/100 km | 266–261 g/km | G |
| Cabriolet | 11.8–11.6 l/100 km | 267–264 g/km | G |
These European WLTP ranges are distinct from the U.S. launch specifications and do not establish what an owner will achieve in everyday driving.
