The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X pairs a twin-turbo V8 driving the rear wheels with an electric motor driving the front axle, delivering manufacturer-rated 1,250 horsepower and electrified all-wheel drive without plug-in charging. Chevrolet’s reported 1.68-second 0–60 mph run and 8.675-second quarter-mile make it a remarkable performance claim—but those results came on a prepped closed-course surface, not a public road.
What makes the ZR1X different?
The ZR1X combines two propulsion systems that drive separate axles. Its twin-turbocharged LT7 V8 sends power to the rear wheels, while an electric drive unit powers the front axle. Chevrolet says the systems have no physical connection to each other: together, they provide electrified all-wheel drive, rather than a conventional mechanical link between the front and rear axles.
It is not a plug-in hybrid. Chevrolet says the front drive unit’s battery is charged through regenerative effort, so the car does not require an external charging cable. That distinction is central to the ZR1X’s character: the electric motor adds front-axle drive, while the V8 remains responsible for rear-wheel propulsion.
How much horsepower does the Corvette ZR1X have?
Chevrolet’s manufacturer specifications rate the LT7 V8 at 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. The front electric drive unit is rated at 186 horsepower and 145 lb-ft. Chevrolet gives the combined system output as 1,250 horsepower.

- AUTHENTIC 1:18 SCALE REPLICA: Finely detailed die-cast model of the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 in bold blue, true to the real supercar's lines and stance.
- FUNCTIONAL DETAIL: Opening doors, hood, and trunk plus free-rolling wheels reveal the detailed engine bay and cockpit interior.
- PREMIUM DIE-CAST BUILD: Metal body with crisp molded parts and a factory paint finish, built to display.
- DISPLAY-READY COLLECTIBLE: A standout 1:18 piece for Corvette fans and die-cast collectors on a shelf, desk, or in a case.
- GREAT GIFT, AGES 3 AND UP: Ideal for car enthusiasts, kids, and collectors who love American sports cars.
Those are Chevrolet figures, not independent measurements. The combined output is the headline number, but the split between rear V8 power and front electric drive explains why the ZR1X is more than a higher-output version of a rear-drive Corvette.
How fast is the ZR1X?
Chevrolet reported that a ZR1X covered the quarter-mile in 8.675 seconds at 159 mph and accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 1.68 seconds. These were closed-course results from validation testing that Chevrolet says culminated in October 2025. The run used a prepped surface, pump gasoline, standard Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, the production 50-state street-legal engine calibration and standard aerodynamics. They are manufacturer-reported results under specific conditions—not a promise of what the car will do on an ordinary road or every track.

- Brand new box.
- Real rubber tires. Has opening doors.
- Detailed interior, exterior. Made of diecast with some plastic parts.
- Dimensions approximately L-7.5, W-3.5, H-2 inches.
Chevrolet also reported an 8.99-second quarter-mile and 1.89-second 0–60 mph run for a ZTK-equipped car on an unprepped surface. That is a different configuration and surface, so it should not be treated as a direct comparison with the prepped-surface result.
Which ZR1X configuration suits you?
The ZR1X is offered as a coupe or hardtop convertible. Chevrolet describes two chassis setups, both with Magnetic Ride Control. The choice is less about a published lap-time advantage—none is established here—and more about tire, spring and aerodynamic setup, and how much track focus you want.
Rank #3
| Configuration | What Chevrolet specifies | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Standard chassis | Magnetic Ride Control and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires | Chevrolet describes it as a touring and track-capable balance. |
| ZTK Performance Package | Higher spring rates and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires | The firmer, higher-grip choice for a more track-oriented setup. |
| Carbon Aero package | High-downforce aerodynamic components; standard with ZTK | For buyers seeking the added aero hardware. Chevrolet says it can also be fitted to a standard-chassis car. |
Chevrolet also specifies Alcon 10-piston front and 6-piston rear calipers with 16.5-inch carbon-ceramic rotors. The company’s descriptions of ride balance and intended use are its own positioning, not independent road-test findings.
How much does a Corvette ZR1X weigh?
Chevrolet’s product page lists dry weights of 3,914 pounds for the coupe and 3,978 pounds for the convertible. Dry weight is not the same as a ready-to-drive curb weight; the listed figures should be checked against the specific configuration on Chevrolet’s current page.

How much does the 2026 Corvette ZR1X cost?
Chevrolet’s product page lists a starting price of $209,700 for the 2026 ZR1X. Chevrolet says its listed MSRP includes destination freight; taxes, title, license, dealer fees, optional equipment and the dealer’s final pricing can change the transaction price. Why this is the Corvette I want to drive in 2026
The appeal is not just the combined horsepower. The ZR1X gives the Corvette a distinctly different propulsion layout: a twin-turbo V8 at the rear and electric drive at the front, with no plug-in routine and no mechanical connection between those power sources. Chevrolet’s closed-course numbers give that idea a startling performance context, while the standard and ZTK setups make clear that buyers can choose between a broader touring-and-track balance and a firmer, more track-focused specification.
