Carscoops reported an asking price of $70,725; that figure is a reported snapshot, not confirmation of current inventory.
What is the Texas dealer’s Back to the Future Tacoma?
Carscoops reported that Longo Toyota of Prosper, Texas, built the tribute around a 2026 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport equipped with Toyota’s i-Force Max hybrid powertrain. The concept draws on Marty McFly’s Toyota pickup in the film franchise, but this is a contemporary dealer build rather than a reproduction of the original movie vehicle.
The distinction matters: the film truck was a 1985 Toyota pickup. Toyota later created its own film-inspired truck using a 2016 Tacoma, a project announced in 2015. Longo’s reported 2026 TRD Sport is a separate effort.
Which modifications are reported?

The report identifies the powertrain as a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder paired with a 1.87 kWh nickel-metal hydride battery and an electric motor integrated into an eight-speed automatic. Carscoops gives output as 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque; these figures are attributed to that report here.
How much is the custom Tacoma reported to cost?
Carscoops reported $70,725 as the dealer’s asking price and listed $16,985 in upgrades. It also gave $52,941 as the truck’s original price. These are secondary-source figures, not a live inventory confirmation; the dealer’s current availability and price are not established here.

Using those reported amounts, the ask is $17,784 above the reported original price, $6,975 above the Trailhunter starting figure, and $5,975 above the TRD Pro figure. Those differences are arithmetic, not a judgment that the accessories justify the premium. The quoted trim prices are from the same 2026 Carscoops report and should not be treated as current pricing without checking Toyota or dealer listings.
Is it the same Tacoma tribute Toyota built for SEMA?
No. Toyota’s November 3, 2015 press release describes a separate recreation of the famous 4×4, built using the then-new 2016 Tacoma for SEMA and movie fans. Toyota listed custom 1985 Toyota Truck exterior paint, off-road suspension, TRD wheels, BFGoodrich tires, tubular bumpers, a light bar, and KC HiLites Gravity LED G46 and Daylighter Gravity LED lights.

The choice is between this particular visual package and other ways to spend the same budget. A buyer comparing the reported ask with a Trailhunter or TRD Pro should consider the total purchase price, which accessories are included, the base trim and powertrain, intended use, and how much the movie-inspired look matters to them.
