Tesla reported 486,532 vehicle deliveries and 13.7 GWh of energy-storage deployments for the third quarter of 2026. Those are operating figures, not a readout of profit or cash flow: Tesla’s Q3 financial results were scheduled for October 21, 2026, after market close.
What Tesla reported for Q3 2026
In its October 2 operating update, Tesla said it produced 464,391 vehicles and delivered 486,532. It also reported deploying 13.7 GWh of energy-storage products. These are company-reported, global figures.

Model 3 and Model Y made up most of the vehicle volume: 457,387 produced and 478,237 delivered. Tesla reported 7,004 other vehicles produced and 8,295 delivered. Tesla’s October 2, 2026 operating update includes the model-group breakdown.
When Tesla’s Q3 financial results were due
Tesla scheduled its Q3 2026 financial results for after market close on Wednesday, October 21, followed by a live Q&A at 4:30 p.m. Central Time (5:30 p.m. Eastern). As of October 8, revenue, profit, cash flow and margins for Q3 had not yet been announced. The operating update cannot answer those financial questions.

Tesla explicitly cautioned that “Tesla vehicle deliveries and storage deployments represent only two measures of the Company’s financial performance and should not be relied on as an indicator of quarterly financial results.” Investors and readers should wait for the earnings release to assess financial performance rather than treating delivery volume as a proxy for it.
Latest available financial context: Q2 2026
The latest financial results available as of October 8 were for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. Tesla reported $28.236 billion in Q2 revenue: $25.097 billion from automotive and $3.139 billion from energy generation and storage. These are separate business segments, so the energy figure should not be folded into automotive revenue.

Tesla’s Q2 filing said automotive sales revenue increased year over year while regulatory-credit revenue declined. Services and other revenue rose; Tesla cited used-vehicle sales, maintenance and collision work, and paid Supercharging sessions among the contributing factors. The filing does not make these Q2 details a statement about Q3.
Investment and company priorities
Higher first-half spending
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, Tesla reported $8.28 billion in capital expenditures, compared with $3.89 billion in the same period of 2025. The figures cover the first half, not Q3. Tesla also attributed higher first-half research and development spending to increased costs related to AI and other programs, as well as stock-based compensation.

Cybercab and stated areas of focus
Tesla’s Q2 filing said Cybercab production began in the first half of 2026. It also identified autonomy, new products, battery and AI-compute technologies, and global infrastructure as areas of focus. The production milestone does not establish a scaled commercial rollout, and the filing is not independent verification of future autonomy performance.
SpaceX disclosures
Tesla disclosed that it invested $2.00 billion in SpaceX common stock in March 2026, representing less than 1% ownership. It also reported that SpaceX purchased Megapack products in the ordinary course of business. These disclosures do not establish Tesla control of SpaceX or predict future sales between the companies.
