Tesla entered India on July 15, 2025, opening its first showroom at Maker Maxity in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). Delhi’s Aerocity location is no longer just a plan: Tesla’s current store listing names an Experience Center at Worldmark 3 Aerocity. The company now lists additional Indian locations as well.
What happened when Tesla launched in India?
Tesla opened its first Indian showroom at Maker Maxity Mall in Mumbai’s BKC on July 15, 2025, and introduced the Model Y as its first vehicle in the market. The Indian Express reported that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis opened the showroom with Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik. At launch, Tesla planned to import the vehicle and sell it through its experience centers.
Fadnavis said at the opening: “It is a statement that Tesla has arrived in the right city – one that is not just the financial and entertainment capital, but also the entrepreneurial capital of the country.”
Where are Tesla’s Mumbai and Delhi centers?
Tesla’s current India store listing identifies the Mumbai Experience Center at Maker Maxity, BKC Road, and the Delhi Experience Center at Worldmark 3 Aerocity. The Delhi site, near the airport, was reported as planned at the time of the 2025 launch; Tesla’s current listing now names it as an Experience Center. Which other Indian locations does Tesla list?
Mumbai and Delhi are not Tesla’s only listed retail locations in India. The company’s store page also names:
- Tesla Centre at Orchid Business Park, Gurugram
- Experience Centers in Chennai, Hyderabad, Noida, and Bengaluru
The listing confirms the locations Tesla currently names, but does not establish when each center opened.

What was the Model Y’s launch price in India?
The Associated Press reported a launch-presentation base price of ₹6.78 million ($79,089) for the long-range, rear-wheel-drive Model Y in 2025. This is a historical launch figure, not a current price quote. AP also reported that deliveries were expected to start in the third quarter of 2025. Current pricing, available configurations, stock, and delivery timing are not established by that launch coverage; check Tesla’s India site for current vehicle information.
