Contemporaneous coverage said both options required buyers to purchase Full Self-Driving (FSD), and linked the promotion to Tesla’s planned October 10 Robotaxi unveiling. Tesla’s current US offers are different, so check its Current Offers page for terms that apply now.
What did the reported Model Y financing promotion include?
In October 2024, Notebookcheck reported two Model Y financing options: 0% APR and a separate 0.99% APR option with no down payment. The report said buying FSD was required for either deal. These are reported promotional terms; an archived Tesla loan agreement confirming the exact conditions is not available here.

The report does not establish that the two choices had the same loan length, qualification rules, eligible configurations, ordering or delivery deadlines, or expiry date. APR alone also does not determine the total cost of financing: the loan amount, term, fees, eligibility and any required FSD purchase matter.
Are Tesla’s 0% Model Y APR deals still available?
No: the 0% and 0.99% figures refer to the October 2024 promotion and should not be treated as current rates. Tesla says on its US Current Offers page that promotions can change or end at any time. The page currently lists different Model Y financing terms, not the historical offer. Its displayed terms may include a minimum down payment, and available rates and eligible vehicles can change; review the live offer details before placing an order.

Compare the current offer’s APR, loan term, minimum down payment, taxes and fees, eligible vehicle, qualification criteria and expiration or delivery requirements. Do not assume that a historical FSD condition applies to today’s financing, or that current terms are available in other countries.
How did the promotion relate to Tesla’s Robotaxi plans?
Notebookcheck connected the October 2024 promotion to Tesla’s planned October 10 Robotaxi unveiling. That was the context reported at the time, not evidence that the financing deal itself was an offer for Robotaxi rides or that the service had already launched.

Tesla later said its Robotaxi service launched in Austin in June 2025, initially with a safety rider. Its Q2 2025 update describes app features including requesting rides, tracking the vehicle, setting cabin temperature, unlocking with a phone, using in-car entertainment and paying through a payment profile. These are Tesla’s descriptions of its service; the cited material does not establish a fully driverless launch.

Tesla’s US support page lists FSD (Supervised) as a monthly subscription for $99 per month; the page does not show a publication date. Tesla’s current offers page also advertises a 30-day trial for new vehicle deliveries. Those current subscription and trial details are separate from the reported 2024 financing promotion, which Notebookcheck said required an FSD purchase.

FSD (Supervised) is the name Tesla uses for its driver-assistance feature. Do not interpret the label as confirmation that a vehicle can operate without driver supervision. Check Tesla’s current FSD support information and the terms shown for your vehicle and region before deciding whether to subscribe or purchase.
