Why the displayed starting price is not the delivered price
In one displayed base-order example, Tesla itemizes a $75 documentation fee, $2,515 destination fee, and $250 order fee, bringing the purchase price to $42,830 before taxes and other fees. A separate configurator result shows a different destination charge and total. The difference is a reminder to use the quote for the actual delivery location and current order—not to add a fee from one snapshot to a price from another.

For a useful comparison, keep the vehicle price separate from destination and order charges, taxes and registration, paid options, financing cost, and any eligible incentives. An advertised monthly payment depends on its assumptions, including down payment, loan term, and credit approval.
What comes with the base Model Y?
The displayed base build includes Stealth Grey paint, 18-inch Aperture wheels, an all-black interior, a five-seat layout, and Traffic-Aware Cruise Control. The order snapshot also shows trials of Premium Connectivity and Full Self-Driving (Supervised). A trial is temporary; it should not be counted as a permanent included subscription.
Tesla states that its vehicles have active safety features including Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Avoidance. That is Tesla’s description of its equipment, not an independent safety evaluation.

Confirm whether the desired seat layout is available on the specific configuration you are ordering.

Performance AWD
Performance prioritizes acceleration: Tesla lists 3.3 seconds from 0 to 60 mph, 21-inch wheels, and five seats. Its listed 306-mile EPA-estimated range is lower than the Premium AWD figure above. Consider whether the quicker acceleration and performance-focused setup suit your priorities before paying for this configuration.
Model Y L Premium
The Model Y L Premium is a longer-wheelbase, six-seat, three-row choice rather than another two-row trim. Tesla lists 332 miles EPA-estimated range and up to 89 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the middle and rear seats folded. Its listed cabin equipment includes a 16-inch center display and an 8-inch second-row display. Tesla’s cited page gives a $61,990 starting price and a $63,630 figure including destination and order fees, but excluding taxes and other fees; confirm the live quote before relying on it.
Charging and accessories: what is separate?
Tesla says its vehicles have access to the Supercharging network, but that does not make home charging hardware part of the displayed vehicle price. The configurator lists a Wall Connector separately, and it requires installation. Check the exact order to confirm what charging equipment, if any, is supplied with the vehicle.

Treat those benefits as time-sensitive rather than guaranteed. Compare the total borrowing cost and offer conditions, not just a monthly payment or a headline APR. Which Model Y configuration is worth the money?
There is no single best-value trim without knowing the buyer’s priorities. Compare the actual delivered quotes and the features that matter to you:
- For the lowest displayed starting price: Rear-Wheel Drive is the least expensive configuration in the cited two-row snapshot.
- For listed acceleration and AWD: Premium AWD has Tesla-published range, acceleration, and seating figures; verify the exact seat layout and price in the current configurator.
- For quicker acceleration: Performance is the quickest of the configurations with specifications listed here, while its stated range is lower than Premium AWD’s.
- For three rows and six seats: Model Y L Premium is the relevant choice, with a higher starting price and distinct cabin layout.
- For an apples-to-apples cost comparison: Add destination and order charges, taxes and registration, paid options, and financing cost to each live build; compare any incentive only if you qualify for its terms.
Tesla identifies the listed range figures as EPA estimates. Its page gives 321 miles for the displayed RWD with 18-inch wheels as a 2026 model-year figure based on EPA data as of March 25, 2026; the other figures should likewise be read as trim-specific estimates, not a promise of real-world driving range.
What the listed price does not tell you
The cited Tesla pages do not establish a location-specific out-the-door total, insurance cost, electricity savings, depreciation, reliability, or state incentives. They also do not independently validate Tesla’s lower-cost-of-ownership marketing claims. Calculate those items using your location, driving, insurance quote, and applicable incentive rules rather than treating the starting price as a full ownership-cost comparison.
