This comparison uses Tesla’s U.S. lineup as presented on October 8, 2026: the rear-wheel-drive Model 3 Standard versus Model 3 Performance. The Performance costs $18,000 more at the displayed starting prices and is substantially quicker, but Tesla’s pages disagree on its EPA-estimated range. Model 3 Premium AWD is a middle option for buyers who want all-wheel drive without choosing Performance.
Price: Performance costs $18,000 more at the displayed starting prices
Tesla lists the Model 3 Standard from $38,630 and Model 3 Performance from $56,630, an $18,000 difference. Tesla says the displayed prices include destination and order fees but exclude taxes and other fees, and are subject to change. They are starting prices, not an individual buyer’s out-the-door quote. Check Tesla’s [Model 3 page] and live U.S. configurator for current pricing and configuration.
0–60 mph: Performance is much quicker
Tesla lists the Standard Model 3 at 5.8 seconds from 0 to 60 mph. It lists Performance at 2.9 seconds, with rollout subtracted from the Performance figure. These are Tesla-published specifications, not independent test results. The figures appear on Tesla’s [Model 3 page] and [Performance specifications page].
Range: Tesla’s Performance figures do not match across pages
Tesla lists 321 miles of EPA-estimated range for the Standard. For Performance, Tesla’s comparison and Performance specification pages show 309 miles, while another Model 3 page shows 316 miles. Because Tesla’s own published pages conflict, neither Performance figure should be treated as a definitive current number. Verify the exact trim and configuration in Tesla’s live U.S. configurator before ordering.

These are EPA-estimated figures published by Tesla, not guarantees of real-world driving distance. Tesla says range and charging performance can vary with configuration, state of charge, battery temperature, speed, weather, elevation change and other factors. Its “miles added in 15 minutes” claims are based on constant-speed data, so they should be read as estimates rather than a promised result for a particular charging stop. See Tesla’s [Model 3 page].
