Tesla delivered 1,789,226 vehicles in 2024, down from 1,808,581 in 2023—a decline of about 1.1%, based on the company’s reported totals. The Cybertruck was on sale during 2024, but Tesla’s year-end release grouped it with Model S and Model X and did not give a separate annual Cybertruck delivery count. The company-wide result shows the pickup did not prevent an annual decline; it does not reveal how many deliveries the truck added or what sales would have been without it.
How much did Tesla deliveries fall in 2024?
Tesla’s fourth-quarter and full-year 2024 update reports 1,789,226 vehicle deliveries for 2024 and 1,808,581 for 2023. The difference is 19,355 vehicles, or roughly 1.1% of the 2023 total. Reuters and the Associated Press also reported a 1.1% decline. TechCrunch reported 2.2% using rounded totals, so the exact company counts are the clearest basis for the comparison.

How many Cybertrucks did Tesla deliver in 2024?
Tesla did not disclose a standalone Cybertruck annual delivery figure in the reviewed year-end release. It combined Cybertruck deliveries with Model S and Model X in an “other models” category. That means the category’s total cannot be treated as Cybertruck sales, and the available figures do not show the truck’s individual contribution to Tesla’s annual total.

Reuters reported that Tesla delivered 495,570 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2024. Of these, 471,930 were Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, while 23,640 were in the combined “other models” group, which includes Model S, Model X and Cybertruck. The 23,640 figure is therefore not a Cybertruck delivery count.

What pressures were cited for Tesla’s sales performance?
Reuters and the Associated Press described several headwinds, but neither report establishes how much each one contributed to the annual decline.
- Financing and incentives: Reuters cited borrowing costs and reduced subsidies in Europe as pressures on demand.
- More alternatives: Reuters pointed to lower-priced hybrid alternatives in the United States and competition, particularly from BYD.
- Product range: The Associated Press described a sluggish start, competition and an aging lineup. It quoted Jeff Schuster, vice president of automotive research at Global Data, saying: “If they want to continue to see the growth they had, they need to expand to other sizes and price points.”
These are reported market explanations, not measured causal shares. They provide context for the decline but do not establish whether any single factor—or the Cybertruck’s contribution—determined Tesla’s year-end result.
