TEMO’s TEMO·1000 portable electric outboard made its reported North American debut on April 25, 2025, at the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show, with deliveries for existing orders due to start that day. TEMO’s U.S. product page currently lists the motor at $3,499, though the listing showed a sold-out notice when reviewed; check the page for current price and availability.
What the TEMO·1000 is designed for
TEMO positions the 48 V motor as auxiliary propulsion for large tenders and small sailboats up to 26 ft or 1.5 tons. BoatU.S. likewise describes it for dinghies and lightweight sailboats up to 26 ft. Those are manufacturer and publication descriptions, not a guarantee that it will suit every boat: transom construction, shaft fit, load, water and wind conditions, and the job you expect it to do all matter. Check fit and safe operating requirements for your specific boat before buying.
The launch date and initial delivery timing were reported by New Atlas on April 18, 2025. The intended boat categories and product details are described on TEMO’s U.S. product page and in BoatU.S. Magazine’s July 2026 review.
TEMO·1000 specifications
The following figures come from TEMO’s U.S. product page and are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
#1 Best Overall
- Superior carbonation system with primer bulb for increased efficiency
- Twist grip throttle handle and engine stop button for improved response
- Superior outboard anti corrosion system and anodes for increased durability
- cast aluminum construction for superior corrosion protection
- Through the prop exhaust outlet for decreased noise and pollutants
| Specification | TEMO·1000 |
|---|---|
| Motor power | 1,100 W |
| Propulsive power | 949 W |
| System voltage | 48 V |
| Battery capacity | 949 Wh |
| Static thrust | 60 lb |
| Total weight, including battery | 35 lb |
| Shaft-height adjustment | 8.5–37.8 cm along a rail |
| Protection rating | IP67 |
The battery is a removable, interchangeable cassette with no cable connection to the motor, according to TEMO. The mount rotates 360 degrees and has three tilt positions; the shaft height adjusts and the tiller retracts for storage or transport. The package listed by TEMO includes the motor, battery, 110 V charger, magnetic safety key and mounting bracket.
Runtime and charging: what to expect
TEMO advertises up to four hours of runtime, but that is not a guaranteed duration or a range estimate. BoatU.S. reports the manufacturer’s throttle-specific estimates as four hours at half throttle and one hour at full throttle. The same review says average real-world runtime reported by users was two to three hours; it does not present that figure as a controlled test. Load, speed, conditions and throttle use affect runtime.

- ⚡ 3HP EQUIVALENT / 110 LB THRUST – The Newport NT300 36V electric outboard delivers 1300W of power and up to 110 lb of thrust for strong, quiet propulsion on freshwater or saltwater boats without gas, fumes, or engine noise.
- 🔋 36V ELECTRIC OUTBOARD SYSTEM – Runs on an external 36V DC battery with a recommended minimum capacity of 30Ah; compatible with lithium or lead-acid deep-cycle batteries so you can build the power setup that fits your boating needs.
- 🚤 LIGHTWEIGHT & PORTABLE – At just 23.8 lb, the NT300 is easy to carry, mount, remove, and store, giving boaters capable main propulsion without the weight and maintenance demands of a traditional gas outboard.
- 🤫 QUIET BRUSHLESS DIRECT DRIVE – Efficient brushless direct-drive technology provides smooth, low-noise propulsion with minimal maintenance, ideal for fishing, recreational boating, and waterways where quiet operation matters.
- 🌊 STANDARD SHAFT FOR VERSATILE BOATING – This standard-shaft NT300 is built as a practical main-propulsion electric outboard for compatible small boats, delivering responsive power and dependable performance in both fresh and salt water.
TEMO lists charging from 110 V or 12 V and says charging on 12 V takes 12 hours. Its FAQ specifies a 12 V cigarette-lighter socket and notes that the required accessory is sold separately. BoatU.S. reports the manufacturer’s estimate of about five-and-a-half hours for a full charge from empty on 120 V. Those voltage descriptions and times come from different source statements, so confirm the charger and charging setup supplied with the current U.S. package.
Price, stock, warranty and service
TEMO’s U.S. page lists a price of $3,499, but it showed a sold-out notification state when reviewed. Price and inventory can change; check the live TEMO·1000 product listing before making a purchase decision.

The available sources establish TEMO·1000 specifications but do not provide a complete, current side-by-side dataset for competing models, so they do not support naming a comparative winner. For a useful comparison, check each model against the same practical criteria:
- Fit: transom compatibility, shaft adjustment and the boat’s loaded weight.
- Power: motor and propulsive power, thrust, and whether the figures are measured or manufacturer-listed.
- Battery: capacity, weight, removability and whether spare batteries are currently sold for your market.
- Use time: runtime at stated throttle settings, rather than a single maximum-runtime claim.
- Charging: supported voltage, charge time from empty and whether the needed cable or adapter is included.
- Ownership: current price, warranty conditions and access to service near you.
TEMO lists a model-specific transport bag and anti-theft kit as separate bundle items. A spare cassette battery and 12 V charging accessory may also be worth checking, but confirm U.S. availability, compatibility and price directly; spare-battery availability reported in April 2025 is not evidence of current stock.
