How many passenger vehicles did Tata sell in September 2026?
DriveSpark reported 68,810 domestic passenger-vehicle sales for September, versus 59,667 in September 2025, a year-over-year increase of 15.32%. The Times of India and RushLane also reported the 68,810 domestic figure. These are figures reported by secondary news outlets; the available reports do not establish a primary Tata Motors monthly release confirming them.
The distinction between domestic sales and the exports-included total matters when comparing automakers. DriveSpark reported 1,400 exports in September, up from 1,240 a year earlier, and a total of 70,210 passenger vehicles when exports are included. That broader total was 15.27% higher than 60,907 a year earlier.
How much did Tata EV sales grow?
DriveSpark reported 15,384 EVs in September 2026, compared with 9,191 in September 2025, an increase of 67.38%. The Times of India reported the same counts and rounded the growth to about 67%. It put EVs at approximately 21.91% of monthly passenger-vehicle volumes, versus 15.09% a year earlier.

What do the September figures show beyond year-over-year growth?
Sales rose from August
DriveSpark reported domestic sales of 65,253 units in August 2026. Against that figure, September’s 68,810 represented a 5.45% month-over-month increase.
The July–September quarter was also stronger
For July–September 2026, which DriveSpark identifies as Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles’ Q2 FY2026–27, DriveSpark reported combined domestic and export sales of 201,723 units, compared with 144,397 in the same period a year earlier. That is a reported increase of 39.70%. The report also put quarterly EV sales at 47,150, up 89.70% year over year, and said EVs and CNG vehicles together accounted for 51% of quarterly sales.

Those quarterly numbers describe the company’s fiscal second quarter, not a separately defined calendar-quarter sales measure.
