The 43 mm quartz chronograph was made in a 500-piece run, with Indy 500 graphics and a Pagoda illustration tying its design to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
What the 2022 Indy 500 edition is
TAG Heuer presented the watch to mark the 106th Indianapolis 500 and its 18th year as Official Timekeeper of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. The brand says it joined the Indy 500 partnership as Official Timekeeper and Scorer in 2004. Its May 2022 magazine guide counted 17 Indy 500 special-edition watches released since that partnership began.
The official product brochure identifies the model as the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Indy 500 2022 Limited Edition, reference CAZ101AR.BA0842, and states that the edition is limited to 500 pieces.

What makes its design specific to the Indy 500
The standout race references are a gold Indy 500 logo on the bezel, a red inner-bezel detail and a Pagoda illustration in the 6 o’clock chronograph counter. TAG Heuer says the design was developed in collaboration with the INDYCAR team and driver Alexander Rossi. In its May 2022 brochure, the brand described the 43 mm chronograph as inspired by the Speedway and by motor racing’s intensity and spirit.

TAG Heuer’s magazine describes three subdials: permanent seconds at 3 o’clock, an hour chronograph counter and 1/10th-second counter at 6 o’clock, and a minute chronograph counter at 9 o’clock. It places the date at 4 o’clock. The brochure’s specification table identifies the fixed tachymeter bezel as aluminum, while the magazine calls it ceramic; the material descriptions conflict, so the bezel material is not unambiguous across TAG Heuer’s own publications.
