It paired a blacked-out Carrera design with red NISMO details. It was associated with the campaign, but the available launch coverage does not identify it as an official Le Mans timing instrument.
What the Carrera NISMO watch was
TAG Heuer Japan announced the watch on June 16, 2015, under the name Carrera Calibre 16 Chronograph Day-Date Nissan NISMO Edition. English-language watch publications also called it the Carrera NISMO Calibre 16 Day-Date Chronograph Special Edition. Its reference is CV2A82.FC6237. The brand said the design was inspired by Nissan’s GT-R LM NISMO. TAG Heuer Japan’s release gives the official Japanese name and reference; SJX’s launch coverage ties the release to Nissan’s 2015 return to Le Mans after a 16-year absence.

That connection makes the Le Mans framing appropriate as campaign context, not as a claim that the watch served as the race’s official timekeeper.

Contemporary independent coverage adds case and movement details:
- Case: SJX and Monochrome Watches describe a 43 mm black-coated titanium case. SJX specifies a black titanium-carbide coating.
- Bezel and caseback: SJX reports a scratch-resistant black ceramic bezel and a sapphire caseback carrying the Team Nissan NISMO logo.
- Movement: SJX identifies the chronograph movement as a Sellita SW500. TAG Heuer Japan’s release names it Calibre 16 without identifying the movement supplier.
- Color scheme: The red accents and predominantly black treatment echo the NISMO design cues, as described in the Japanese release and Monochrome’s coverage.
Original prices and production status
The prices below are original release-era figures reported for different markets, not current resale values. They are not directly comparable without accounting for currency, market and tax treatment.
| Market or source | Reported launch price | Production-status description |
|---|---|---|
| Japan — TAG Heuer Japan, June 16, 2015 | ¥599,400, including tax | Called limited production |
| United States and Singapore — SJX, June 10, 2015 | US$5,300 and S$7,250 | SJX said it was available only in 2015 |
| Monochrome Watches, June 11, 2015 | €4,750 | Described production as apparently non-limited |
Contemporary sources disagree about whether production was limited: TAG Heuer Japan used that description, while Monochrome characterized the edition as apparently non-limited. SJX’s statement that it was available only in 2015 does not establish a production quantity. None of these sources gives a verified worldwide total.

- Confirm that the reference is CV2A82.FC6237, rather than relying on a broad “Carrera NISMO” description.
- Inspect the watch’s condition and ask for clear photographs of identifying details, including the dial, bezel and caseback.
- Review the stated provenance and whether box and papers are included; do not assume either from the model name.
- Assess the seller’s reputation and authenticity policies, and compare the listing’s asking price with other current examples.
