But the available specifications do not confirm that the ZZ632 is installed in the Corvette referenced by the headline. Which Corvette engine is larger than the Viper’s 8.4-liter V10?
The closest documented match is Chevrolet Performance’s ZZ632/1000. It is a naturally aspirated 632-cubic-inch V8, which Chevrolet lists as 10,348 cc—approximately 10.35 liters. That is roughly 1.95 liters more displacement than the 8.4-liter V10 in the cited Viper specifications. Chevrolet’s ZZ632/1000 specifications establish the engine’s size, but do not identify it as the engine in a particular Corvette.
That distinction matters: the ZZ632/1000 is a crate engine, while the Viper V10 was factory-installed in the production cars cited here. Without a source identifying the Corvette build, it is not possible to say that this is definitively the engine in the car behind the headline.

The output figures are not a controlled, same-basis comparison. They come from different sources and vehicle contexts, and the Viper’s published output varies by model year. The displacement gap is straightforward; it does not by itself show which car is faster or which engine performs better in a particular build.
Is the ZZ632 a production Corvette engine?
No. Chevrolet’s documentation identifies the ZZ632/1000 as a crate engine. The production Corvette engines cited by GM and Chevrolet are smaller: GM says the 2027 Stingray, Grand Sport, and Grand Sport X use a 6.7-liter LS6, while Chevrolet lists a 5.5-liter LT7 for the 2025 Corvette ZR1. Neither matches the 10.35-liter displacement clue.

GM News lists the LS6 figures for the 2027 Corvette. Chevrolet gives the LT7 figures and says its power and torque values follow SAE guidelines. These production specifications provide useful context, but do not establish the identity of the engine in an unspecified Corvette build. Chevrolet says the ZZ632/1000 is intended only for vehicles used in racing or organized competition. It also warns that using it on public roads is likely to violate emissions regulations. That makes it inaccurate to present the engine as a straightforward, road-legal Corvette swap; buyers and builders should check applicable emissions rules and the requirements for their intended use.

Chevrolet’s announcement said deliveries would begin in early 2022. That historical announcement does not establish current inventory or availability.

What the size comparison does—and does not—tell you
- It establishes a displacement difference: the ZZ632/1000’s 10.35 liters is greater than the 8.4 liters listed for the cited Viper V10.
- It does not identify the Corvette: the available Chevrolet specifications document the crate engine, not its installation in the car implied by the headline.
- It is not a speed verdict: displacement alone does not establish acceleration, top speed, or overall performance. Vehicle setup and the conditions of a direct comparison would matter.
- Viper figures need a model year: the cited 2008 and 2017 sources give different horsepower and torque figures, so “the Viper” is not one universal output specification.
