The Suzuki SV-7GX is a new midweight crossover built around a refined 645 cm³ SV650-series V-twin, with upright ergonomics and touring-oriented equipment. Suzuki has not said it replaces or discontinues the SV650, so “SV650-derived crossover” is the more accurate description. Availability and pricing vary by country.
What is the Suzuki SV-7GX?
Suzuki announced the SV-7GX at EICMA in Milan on 5 November 2025. The company describes it as a crossover that combines the sportiness of a street motorcycle with the comfort of an adventure model, taking concept and styling cues from its larger GSX-S1000GX. It pairs the SV650-series V-twin with upright ergonomics and touring equipment. Suzuki’s announcement initially projected sequential launches from 2026, mainly in North America and Europe; localized timing differs.
Is the SV-7GX replacing the SV650?
Not according to Suzuki’s published announcements and model information. Suzuki presents the SV-7GX as a new crossover and links its engine to the SV650 series, but the reviewed official sources do not say the SV650 is discontinued or name the SV-7GX as its successor. Calling it a “modern SV650 replacement” as a settled fact would overstate what the manufacturer has confirmed. Suzuki’s global announcement and its 2026 global model page support “SV650-derived crossover” instead.
Engine, dimensions and equipment
Suzuki Global lists a 645 cm³ liquid-cooled V-twin, ride-by-wire, selectable drive modes, traction control and a bidirectional quick shifter. Its 2026 model information gives a 795 mm (31.3 in) seat height and 211 kg (465 lb) curb mass. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test measurements. The global specifications may not describe every market configuration.

Suzuki GB’s 2025 announcement and Suzuki Deutschland’s 2026 retail announcement each state 73 PS and 64 Nm. These are manufacturer-published figures; the cited sources do not establish independent comparative or real-world performance. Germany’s announcement lists three riding modes, traction control, a bidirectional quick shifter, hand guards and an adjustable windscreen. It also notes an optional A2 configuration for the German market. Suzuki Deutschland’s retail announcement provides that market-specific equipment information.
Touring equipment and accessories
Suzuki Germany describes a Touring Edition that bundles a tank bag, soft luggage set, taller windscreen and tank pad. The announcement specifies 35 litres of total soft-luggage capacity and a screen 80 mm taller than the standard one. The German Touring Edition announcement gives the bundle details.

Suzuki’s accessory information also names items such as a 45-litre top box, soft panniers, tank bags and heated grips for the UK market. Suzuki GB’s model information and the Suzuki Global model page provide accessory and configurator links. Check local availability, exact fitment and whether an item is standard or optional before buying; equipment can differ by market.
Availability and price depend on country
Suzuki’s initial global plan called for launches from 2026, not one worldwide on-sale date. The following official announcements give a market-specific picture:

Do not use European prices as a proxy for the US or assume a 2027 model-year label gives an exact US launch date. For a buying decision, confirm local pricing, dealer availability and the specification of the country-specific model.

For a full head-to-head, use the matching market and model-year specifications for both bikes and consult independent riding tests. The official information cited here does not establish a comparative test result.
