Its 999 cc inline-four and 19.0 L (5.0 US gal.) tank are documented specifications; neither the tank size nor the dashboard’s consumption display proves how efficiently it uses fuel or how far it will travel on a tank.
What is the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT’s fuel economy?
No measured MPG or standardized test-cycle fuel-economy figure is provided in the official Suzuki sources cited here. Suzuki’s 2026 U.S. specifications give the bike’s engine and tank capacity, while its model materials describe dashboard readouts. Those facts do not establish a verified fuel-consumption result.
The 2026 GSX-S1000GT+ uses a 999 cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled DOHC inline-four with ride-by-wire fuel injection and a 19.0 L (5.0 US gal.) tank, according to Suzuki’s 2026 U.S. specifications. Suzuki characterizes the engine as GSX-R-derived, with broad, smooth power delivery; that is the manufacturer’s description, not an independently measured comparison. A large tank can reduce how often a rider needs to refuel, but it does not by itself show whether the motorcycle is fuel-efficient.
How far can a GSX-S1000GT go on a tank?
The cited 2026 U.S. specification establishes capacity, not a dependable distance per tank. Estimating range requires a consumption figure measured under stated conditions, and none is given in the official sources cited here. Actual distance also depends on factors such as riding conditions and the rider’s use of the bike, so multiplying the tank capacity by an assumed MPG would create an unsupported range claim.

Suzuki says the instrument panel can show average and instant fuel consumption and riding range. These are useful on-bike indications, not a published or independently verified MPG result. The readout list appears in Suzuki’s 2022 launch announcement; Suzuki’s 2024 model page also describes the tank as 19 L (5.0 US gal.) and says it is intended to reduce refueling frequency. That promotional statement does not specify a particular range.
Is the GSX-S1000GT comfortable for touring?
Suzuki equips and markets the GT+ for touring, but the specifications and feature descriptions do not amount to an independent comfort test. The 2026 Suzuki brochure lists integrated side cases, adjustable KYB suspension, a 5-inch TFT display, mySPIN connectivity, Smart Cruise Control and bi-directional quick shifting. Suzuki’s 2027 announcement describes touring-oriented ergonomics and adjustable suspension, along with Smart Cruise Control, bi-directional quick shifting, adjustable traction control and power modes.

For the 2026 U.S. model, Suzuki lists a curb weight of 226 kg (498 lb.) and a seat height of 810 mm (31.9 in.). Those dimensions can help a shopper assess fit, but they do not predict how comfortable a particular rider will find the bike over a long day. The 2026 and 2027 descriptions are year-specific; do not assume the equipment or accessory fitment is identical between model years.
What is the difference between the GSX-S1000GT and GT+?
The names depend on model year and market. The official U.S. materials cited here identify the 2026 motorcycle as the GSX-S1000GT+ and Suzuki’s September 2026 announcement likewise uses GSX-S1000GT+ for the 2027 model. The 2026 brochure lists integrated side cases as equipment. Check the specification and equipment list for the exact year and market you are considering rather than treating the GT and GT+ labels as interchangeable or assuming every version includes the same touring equipment.

Which touring screen fits the GSX-S1000GT?

The listing describes it as 70 mm taller than the standard screen and intended to improve wind and weather protection, particularly for taller riders and longer rides. Verify the model year and market before ordering; the listed fitment does not establish compatibility with later model years. Availability and price can change. See the official Suzuki touring-screen listing.

How to assess the bike’s power-versus-efficiency trade-off
The available official material supports calling the GSX-S1000GT+ a sport-tourer with a large-displacement inline-four, touring equipment and rider aids. It does not establish its fuel efficiency relative to other motorcycles. For a useful comparison, look for fuel-use measurements taken under comparable conditions and distinguish observed road-test results from standardized test-cycle figures. Also compare tank capacity with measured consumption rather than treating capacity as range.
Quick Recap
- Engine: Compare engine character and power delivery using clearly attributed descriptions or comparable tests.
- Fuel use and range: Look for a named test source, model year, route or test method, units and conditions.
- Touring setup: Check wind protection, ergonomics, luggage included with the specific trim, suspension adjustability and curb weight.
- Equipment: Verify rider aids, connectivity and included accessories for the exact model year and market.
