Suzuki says its first kei passenger EV, the e SKY, will go on sale in Japan on November 16, 2026, with prices starting at ¥2,120,000 including Japan’s 10% consumption tax. Jiji Press, in a report carried by Nippon.com, describes that starting price as the lowest for a mini EV in Japan; Suzuki’s announcement lists its own prices but does not provide a competitor-by-competitor comparison.

What range and battery does the e SKY have?
Suzuki lists a 26 kWh battery, a 310 km range per charge, and electricity consumption of 97 Wh/km, all under the WLTC test cycle. It also gives a 4.4 m minimum turning radius. WLTC figures are not guaranteed real-world results: Suzuki says actual figures can differ substantially depending on use conditions and driving style. Is there a government subsidy?
Suzuki’s product page lists a national CEV subsidy of ¥568,000 for vehicles registered from October 6 through December 31, 2026. The listing is conditional: applications have a deadline and may close when the budget is exhausted. It does not establish that every buyer qualifies or will receive the payment. Check the vehicle’s grade and equipment as well as its listed price, battery capacity, range and efficiency on the same test cycle, and any subsidy eligibility and registration timing. The available specifications do not establish a complete competitor comparison or independent real-world range results for the e SKY.
