In particular, “rally car” does not mean a retail BRZ is confirmed. Treat the turbocharged car as a reported competition project, not an announced showroom model.

Subaru Tecnica International (STI) says: “Technologies born on the track have fueled the innovation of Subaru’s high-performance models like the WRX and BRZ.” That is the company’s broad description of motorsport’s influence; it does not establish that a particular race-car component is fitted to every road-going model. Subaru’s 2025 motorsport announcement gives a more concrete view of that development work. The BRZ GT300 competes in SUPER GT, where Subaru describes aerodynamic and tire-performance development. What the U.S.-market 2027 BRZ actually offers
Subaru of America lists the 2027 BRZ with a 2.4-liter SUBARU BOXER engine rated at 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. It is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive coupe. A six-speed manual is standard; an automatic with paddle shifters is available on the Limited trim. Subaru lists standard 18-inch wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires. Likewise, the BRZ GT300 is a competition car, not the production BRZ. Subaru’s Japanese motorsport page discusses a new EG33 twin-turbo flat-six for that race car. That engine announcement does not establish that a turbocharged road BRZ is coming. Subaru: Japanese motorsport information
