But the “sub-$10K” price in the 2022 headline is no longer current: Polydrops lists the P19 from $18,900. Its low listed dry weight may make it worth considering for some EV owners, but it does not establish how much range an EV will lose while towing.
What the P19 Shorty costs now
Polydrops currently lists the P19 Shorty starting at $18,900. That is distinct from the $9,950 starting price before options reported by Overland Expo on December 16, 2022. The older figure is a launch-era price, not a current offer. Pricing and configuration can change, so check the manufacturer’s P19 page for current details.
Size, weight and standard equipment
Polydrops lists the P19 at 140 inches long, 76 inches wide and 62 inches high, with a dry weight of 640 pounds. Dry weight is not the same as the trailer’s actual weight when equipped and loaded for a trip.

The manufacturer’s listed standard equipment includes a custom aluminum tube chassis, 2,000-pound Timbren axle-less independent suspension, 205/75/15 tires, a 2-inch ball coupler, rigid insulation, locking side doors, windows with bug screens, a 110-volt inlet and outlet, and LED lighting. What the aerodynamic design does—and does not—prove
Polydrops says the P19’s aerodynamic shape reduces air resistance. That describes the design intent; it is not a measured EV towing-range result. The cited product information and coverage do not provide a controlled P19 towing test, an independent range measurement or a vehicle-specific estimate. There is therefore no supported percentage or miles-per-charge figure to apply to an EV towing this trailer.
A trailer’s effect on range depends on the towing vehicle and the actual combination of trailer, load, speed and conditions. Do not treat the P19’s dry weight or aerodynamic claim as a guarantee of compatibility or a predictable range reduction.

Power and cooking options are not all standard
The P19 page describes an optional power package that includes an EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro and a 180-watt roof-mounted solar panel. Kitchen and hitch equipment are also configuration choices; they should not be assumed to come with the base trailer. Confirm the exact equipment, price and compatibility with Polydrops when configuring an order.
Overland Expo’s December 2022 report mentioned a $500 rear hitch receiver and a $600 Yakima 4-gallon RoadShower option. Those are dated prices and do not establish current availability or compatibility.

How to check whether your EV can tow one
- Check the vehicle manual and ratings. Confirm that the specific EV is approved and equipped for towing, and review its rated towing capacity and any other applicable limits.
- Get the configured trailer weights. Ask the seller for the actual weight of the trailer with selected options and determine the loaded weight for your trip. The 640-pound figure is the manufacturer’s dry weight, not a loaded-trip figure.
- Verify tongue load and hitch requirements. Check the vehicle’s allowed tongue load and make sure the hitch and coupler arrangement meet the vehicle and trailer requirements.
- Check local rules and plan for range uncertainty. Confirm applicable towing requirements where you will travel. Because the sources do not provide a P19-specific range test, use vehicle-specific guidance and allow for the possibility that towing will reduce your EV’s range.
The available information does not establish a compatibility list for EV models. A 640-pound dry figure alone is not enough to conclude that a particular vehicle can safely tow a configured P19.

The Polydrops P21 is a separate, larger model. Its current product page lists it from $54,900 with a starting weight of 1,800 pounds and an off-grid climate system; a Dometic CFX3 25L fridge is listed as an optional add-on.
