Subaru of America sold 52,081 vehicles in the United States in November 2025, down 9.7% from the same month a year earlier. The Outback fell less sharply, with 13,089 sales, down 6.5%. The all-new 2026 Outback gives the brand a fresh model, but its April 2025 unveiling is not evidence that it has reversed the sales decline.
What Subaru’s November U.S. sales figures show
Subaru of America’s December 2, 2025 release reported 52,081 U.S. vehicle sales for November, a 9.7% year-over-year decline. Through the first 11 months of 2025, the company reported 586,154 U.S. sales, down 3.3% from the corresponding period in 2024. These are release-reported figures, not independently audited totals.
The monthly and year-to-date comparisons describe different periods: November measures one month against November 2024, while the year-to-date figure compares January through November. Neither figure, on its own, identifies why sales changed.
How the Outback performed
Subaru of America reported 13,089 Outback sales in November 2025, down 6.5% from November 2024. For January through November, it reported 142,943 Outback sales, down 7.1% year over year.

The Outback’s November decline was smaller than Subaru’s overall U.S. decline that month. That comparison shows relative performance, not a cause: the release does not establish whether redesign timing, inventory, consumer preferences, incentives, or supply affected either result.
What the 2026 Outback might change—and what is not yet proven
Subaru Corporation announced the all-new 2026 Outback for the U.S. market on April 18, 2025. A redesigned model can give a nameplate new-product momentum, but the announcement establishes only that the vehicle was unveiled. The November figures do not show that it lifted sales or turned around the trend.

On the available figures, the Outback was holding up better than Subaru’s total U.S. lineup in November, while still declining year over year. Whether the 2026 model can convert that relative resilience into growth requires later U.S. sales results; the reported November data cannot answer that question.
