Stark promotes it as the “fastest electric motocross bike,” but the sources available here do not establish that claim through independent comparisons. Here’s what Stark says changed—and what the published specifications do and do not show.
What upgrades does Stark list for the VARG MX 1.2?
Stark’s product materials describe these changes and options for the MX 1.2. They are manufacturer descriptions, not independent confirmation of improved performance or durability.
- Updated powertrain and lighter gearbox: Stark identifies both as updates, without providing a quantified before-and-after comparison in the cited materials.
- New 7.2 kWh battery: Stark says this is 20% more capacity than its previous model.
- Lighter, more flexible chassis: This is Stark’s description; the cited materials do not give a comparative weight or flexibility measurement for the chassis alone.
- Reworked wiring: Wiring is overmolded, and the map-switch wiring is routed internally through the handlebars.
- Revised protective and drivetrain parts: The bike has a reinforced dual-compound skid plate and a redesigned chain guide. Stark lists an RK MXU UW-ring Gold 520 chain and a 7075 T6 rear sprocket.
- Updated controls and accessories: Stark lists an updated Arkenstone phone and dock, and improved inner tubes as an option.
- Configuration choices: Seat-cover, wheel, brake and handguard options are listed. These are configuration choices, not necessarily changes fitted to every bike.
These details come from Stark’s U.S. product page and its MX 1.2 product material. Neither source provides a complete independent MX 1.0-versus-MX 1.2 test.
What do the power and specification figures mean?
Stark says output can be adjusted from 10 to 80 hp, with power curves and regenerative braking configurable through the phone or app. Its U.S. product page lists the 80 hp figure alongside 260 lb, 721 ft-lb of torque and a 7.2 kWh battery. These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not results from an independent test.

| Figure | What the source says |
|---|---|
| Adjustable output | 10–80 hp, listed by Stark on its current U.S. product page. |
| Weight | 260 lb, listed by Stark on its current U.S. product page. |
| Torque | 721 ft-lb, listed by Stark on its current U.S. product page. |
| Battery capacity | 7.2 kWh, listed by Stark on its current U.S. product page and in the 2025 owner’s manual. |
| Voltage | 420 V for the Standard 60 hp configuration in the manual’s specification table; no corresponding Alpha 80 hp figure is shown in those rows. |
| Top speed | 154 km/h (95.7 mph) in the manual’s Standard 60 hp specification table; do not treat it as a separately established Alpha 80 hp figure. |
The configuration distinction matters: the manual labels its listed performance-table figures as Standard 60 hp. It does not provide corresponding Alpha 80 hp values in those rows. See the product page and 2025 MX 1.2 owner’s manual.
How much riding time and range can you expect?
The manual states up to six hours of riding time, but “up to” is a stated maximum—not a promise for every ride. Actual ride time depends on riding style and conditions. Stark also presents range examples by rider ability and terrain and points to its test videos; those are manufacturer examples, not universal range guarantees. Check the context of any example rather than using it as a prediction for your own track or riding pace.

The same distinction applies to charging. Stark’s U.S. page lists a two-hour charge time, while the manual specifies two hours on 220 V. The manual’s figure is tied to that charging condition; the cited sources do not establish that every outlet or charging setup will deliver the same time.
Is the VARG MX 1.2 the fastest electric dirt bike?
“Fastest electric motocross bike” is Stark’s own product-page positioning. The available sources do not provide an independent ranking, a defined test protocol or head-to-head results that substantiate an unqualified fastest-bike claim. Treat “fastest” as manufacturer marketing, not a verified comparative conclusion.

Buying and configuring the MX 1.2
Stark’s U.S. product page describes online ordering or purchase through a local dealer. Assembly and delivery options depend on location and dealer. The page displayed a U.S. price of $11,990 when retrieved; price, stock and configuration can change, so check the live Stark product page or ask a local dealer for current details. Stark lists a two-year warranty on that page; confirm the terms that apply to the specific bike and purchase location.
If replacing drivetrain parts, do not assume that any generic 520 chain will fit because the listed chain is 520 size. Confirm exact compatibility with Stark or an authorized dealer before ordering.
