Stark VARG EX Sets Electric-Motorcycle Altitude Record on Ojos del Salado

Jiri Zak’s Stark VARG EX ride on Ojos del Salado is listed by Guinness as an electric-motorcycle altitude record, though its 6,714 m value differs from Stark Future’s 6,721 m report.

Jiri Zak rode a Stark VARG EX on Chile’s Ojos del Salado on November 30, 2025, in an attempt Guinness lists as the highest altitude achieved on an electric motorcycle. The reported altitude depends on the source: Stark Future says 6,721 m (22,050 ft), while Guinness’s electric-motorcycle record page lists 6,714 m.

What altitude did the Stark VARG EX reach?

Stark Future, the motorcycle’s manufacturer, reported that Zak reached 6,721 m (22,050 ft). Guinness World Records’ electric-motorcycle page lists the achievement at 6,714 m (22,027.55 ft). The published figures differ by 7 m, and Guinness’s page does not explain the discrepancy. The clearest account is therefore to attribute each figure to its publisher rather than present 6,721 m as Guinness’s confirmed value.

Stark Future published its account on January 23, 2026, describing the November 30, 2025 ride as an official Guinness World Record. Guinness’s page, as accessed for this article, lists Zak at 6,714 m for the same date and location. Guinness notes that records change daily and may not appear online immediately, so its displayed figure is a page-level snapshot rather than a guarantee that the online listing reflects every subsequent update.

Who rode the bike, and where?

The rider was Jiri Zak, and the climb took place on Ojos del Salado in Chile, the volcano identified in both Stark Future’s account and Guinness’s electric-motorcycle listing. The motorcycle was the Stark VARG EX. Visordown described it as a standard, out-of-the-box bike in its December 11, 2025 report.

How was the record claim reported?

The timing matters when weighing the accounts. Visordown reported the 6,721 m claim on December 11, 2025, while Guinness review was still pending. It said GPS logs, witness statements and other supporting evidence awaited independent verification. Stark Future later published its own account and called the result an official Guinness record. Guinness’s electric-motorcycle page now lists Zak’s ride, but at 6,714 m rather than the manufacturer’s 6,721 m.

Stark Future’s account describes route modeling, weather and risk planning, acclimatization, GPS certification, and power and thermal planning. Those are details reported by the manufacturer; they are not independently verified here. The difference between the two published altitude values also remains unexplained by the pages reviewed.

Is it the highest altitude ever reached on a motorcycle?

Not necessarily under the broader category. Guinness has a separate page for the highest altitude achieved on any motorcycle. Its summary fields display 6,756 m (22,165 ft 4.4 in) for Pol Tarrés Roca, above both figures listed for Zak’s electric-motorcycle record. But the general motorcycle page is internally inconsistent: its summary gives an achievement date of February 23, 2026, while its explanatory text says March 6, 2024. That date conflict makes it important not to treat the two categories or their page details as interchangeable.

What the record does—and does not—establish

The record listing establishes that Guinness’s electric-motorcycle page credits Zak with the Ojos del Salado achievement. It does not resolve why Guinness displays 6,714 m while Stark Future reports 6,721 m. Nor does the electric-motorcycle listing by itself establish the highest altitude reached by any motorcycle; that is a separate Guinness category with its own displayed value and a date inconsistency.
