Spinny was reported to have raised more than $280 million in a November 2021 Series E round at a post-money valuation above $1.75 billion. TechCrunch attributed those figures to an unnamed source familiar with the deal. A later report of Spinny’s announcement gave a slightly different total and valuation, so the figures should be read as separate accounts—not combined into a single exact set of terms.
What did Spinny raise in its 2021 funding round?
On November 24, 2021, TechCrunch reported that the Gurugram-based used-car retailer had raised more than $280 million in a Series E co-led by Tiger Global and Abu Dhabi Growth Fund. The report put Spinny’s post-money valuation at more than $1.75 billion. It attributed the round’s terms to a source familiar with the matter who requested anonymity. TechCrunch’s November 2021 report also said the company had previously been valued at about $700 million in July 2021 and $350 million in April 2021.
Why did a later report give different figures?
On December 7, 2021, Mint reported terms from Spinny’s announcement that were more specific but not identical to the initial account. It described a $283 million round led by ADQ, Tiger Global, and Avenir Growth, comprising $250 million in primary capital and about $33 million in secondary sales, at an approximately $1.8 billion valuation. Mint’s coverage does not establish why the investor names, total, or valuation differ from TechCrunch’s earlier account. The sources do not show whether the differences reflect reporting timing, rounding, or another factor.
| Report | Reported round terms | Investor names | Valuation |
|---|---|---|---|

| Mint, December 7, 2021; reporting on Spinny’s announcement | $283 million total: $250 million primary and about $33 million secondary | ADQ, Tiger Global, and Avenir Growth | Approximately $1.8 billion |
What does Spinny do?
Spinny is an Indian used-car retailing platform based in Gurugram, also called Gurgaon in some 2021 reporting. TechCrunch described its process as buying cars from owners, inspecting them, and listing them for customers, in a market where trust in used-car transactions is a central concern. That is a description of the company’s model, not independent evidence that every vehicle or transaction carries a particular level of quality or risk. TechCrunch’s account of Spinny’s model also referred to a refund promise on the company website, subject to terms.

In a company announcement about an earlier 2021 funding round, Spinny called its approach “full stack” and listed features including interactive inventory viewing through Spinny360, an assured buyback program, online booking, doorstep test drives, and delivery. The 2021 announcement describes those initiatives as they stood at the time.

No. The more-than-$1.75 billion figure was a reported post-money valuation for a November 2021 financing round. It is not a current valuation.
Later financing coverage has reported other figures, but those reports do not establish a definitive public valuation that can be directly compared with the 2021 Series E figure. In December 2025, TechCrunch reported that Spinny was raising around $160 million in a Series G transaction connected to a planned GoMechanic acquisition, with an expected post-money valuation of about $1.8 billion. The report cited three people familiar with the matter and said the company declined to comment. TechCrunch’s December 2025 report described reported transaction terms, not an audited valuation.

An Economic Times article dated February 14, 2026, reproduced in an exchange filing, reported a $160–170 million round led by Fidelity and Accel Leaders Fund, including $90 million in primary capital and secondary sales. It put the blended valuation at $1.4–1.5 billion, citing unnamed sources. The Economic Times account may refer to terms that are not directly comparable with the December 2025 report. Both later figures should remain attributed to their sources rather than treated as Spinny’s definitive current value.
