The Escape offers several powertrain types, including a plug-in hybrid; the Bronco Sport comes with standard 4×4 and an off-road-oriented feature set. Ford’s lineup pages establish 2025 configurations, not whether a particular vehicle is still in stock near you.
Which small Ford SUVs were in the 2025 lineup?
For a U.S. model-year comparison, the two relevant nameplates are the Ford Escape and Ford Bronco Sport. Ford does not define “small SUV” in the cited material, so this is a practical framing based on these models—not an official Ford category.
The Escape is the more powertrain-varied choice in Ford’s listed information: its 2025 range includes a plug-in hybrid and configurations with front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. The Bronco Sport emphasizes standard 4×4 and off-road capability. Ford’s 2025 model pages do not establish current nationwide inventory, so check a local dealer for availability.

What 2025 Escape trims and powertrains are listed?
Ford’s U.S. technical specifications list six Escape trim names: Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, Platinum, and Plug-in Hybrid. Powertrain and drivetrain availability varies by trim. Ford describes the plug-in hybrid as using a 2.5L Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine with standard front-wheel drive.
The cited Ford sources do not provide a complete, consistent U.S. table pairing every Escape trim with an MSRP, EPA rating, and powertrain. For an exact vehicle, check its U.S. window sticker and EPA label rather than assuming a figure from another market or trim applies.

What 2025 Bronco Sport trims and prices did Ford list?

|---|---|
| Big Bend | $31,695 |
| Heritage | $33,995 |

Because the sources differ, verify the applicable order guide and market before treating either list as the definitive full lineup.

What engines, fuel economy, and towing figures did Ford give for Bronco Sport?
Ford’s 2025 U.S. model specifications list a 1.5L EcoBoost engine for Big Bend, Heritage, and Outer Banks, and a 2.0L EcoBoost for Badlands. Ford presents the following fuel-economy figures as EPA estimates; they are not real-world test results.
| Configuration in Ford’s specifications | Engine and power | Ford-presented EPA-estimated city/highway mpg |
|---|---|---|
| Big Bend, Heritage, Outer Banks | 1.5L EcoBoost, 180 hp | 25/30 |
| Badlands | 2.0L EcoBoost, 250 hp | 21/27 |
Ford lists five seats and an 8-speed automatic transmission for the Bronco Sport configurations described on its model page. Its stated maximum towing figures depend on the available Class II Trailer Tow package:

Ford says the Bronco Sport has five standard G.O.A.T. Modes—Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Off-Road. Badlands adds Rock Crawl and Rally. Ford also identifies available Black Diamond Off-Road and Sasquatch packages; check the specific trim’s build details for package contents and availability.

In its January 6, 2025 product update, Ford reported revised front and rear fascias, a new grille and wheel designs, available deployable fender tie-downs, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 13.2-inch center touchscreen for the 2025 Bronco Sport. Ford also said SYNC 4, SiriusXM with 360L, wireless charging, and Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ were standard equipment for that model year. Quick Recap
Which one should you consider?
- Consider the Escape if you want to compare several powertrain types, including a plug-in hybrid, or need to choose between front-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive.
- Consider the Bronco Sport if standard 4×4 and Ford’s listed off-road modes are central to your choice.
- Compare exact configurations before buying. Check the vehicle’s window sticker for price and equipment, its EPA label for the specific fuel-economy rating, and the applicable towing package if towing matters.
- Confirm local availability. A 2025 lineup or build page confirms model-year configurations, not remaining inventory in your area.
