There is no universal winner. The refreshed Škoda Slavia suits buyers who want a sedan, turbo-petrol performance and a wider choice of gearboxes, while the refreshed Honda Elevate fits drivers who prefer an SUV body, a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine and a manual or CVT. The right purchase depends on the body style you can live with, the exact trim and on-road quote, your transmission preference, and how you use the car.
Both updates were announced on October 6, 2026. Škoda said Slavia deliveries would begin the following week; Honda unveiled the New Elevate on the same date. Check current stock, delivery timing and the written quotation in your city before paying a booking amount.

What changed for 2026?
This is a comparison of the refreshed cars announced in October 2026, not the outgoing model-year specifications. Škoda announced new Slavia prices on October 6 and Honda unveiled the New Elevate that day. Dealer inventory can include earlier cars, so ask for the manufacturing month, model year, equipment sheet and applicable warranty before you compare offers.

Quick answer: which buyer should choose which car?
| If your priority is… | More logical starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A sedan driving position and a long, low body | Škoda Slavia | It is a sedan with a 4,552 mm length and a lower roofline than the Elevate. |
| An SUV seating position and easier step-in access | Honda Elevate | It is 1,650 mm tall, 1,790 mm wide and offers the taller-cabin format many families prefer. |
| A turbo-petrol engine with several gearbox choices | Škoda Slavia | The 1.0 TSI has manual and torque-converter automatic options; the 1.5 TSI adds a DSG in selected trims. |
| A naturally aspirated petrol with manual or CVT | Honda Elevate | Its 1.5-litre i-VTEC is offered with a six-speed manual or CVT. |
| The strongest published crash-test claim | Škoda Slavia, with a qualification | Škoda says the refreshed car carries forward five-star Global NCAP credentials. Honda’s October 2026 release does not publish a directly comparable current result. |
| Longer standard warranty by time and distance structure | Škoda Slavia | Four years/100,000 km, versus Honda’s three years with unlimited kilometres. |
These are starting points, not a blanket verdict. A well-equipped Elevate CVT can cost more than a lower Slavia trim, and a Slavia automatic may have a different character from the Elevate CVT. Match the equipment and gearbox first, then compare on-road prices.
2026 prices and trims in India
All figures in the following tables are manufacturer-published ex-showroom prices. Škoda states India-wide ex-showroom pricing; Honda’s figures are ex-showroom Delhi. Registration, insurance, handling charges where applicable, taxes, colour premiums, accessories and dealer offers can change the final on-road amount.
Škoda Slavia prices announced October 6, 2026
| Trim | Engine and transmission | Ex-showroom price |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | 1.0 TSI, six-speed manual | ₹9,99,900 |
| Classic+ | 1.0 TSI manual / automatic | ₹10,99,000 / ₹12,49,000 |
| Signature | 1.0 TSI manual / automatic | ₹13,94,000 / ₹14,94,000 |
| Sportline | 1.0 TSI manual / automatic | ₹14,34,000 / ₹15,34,000 |
| Prestige | 1.0 TSI manual / automatic; 1.5 TSI DSG | ₹15,89,000 / ₹16,89,000; ₹18,59,000 |
| Monte Carlo | 1.0 TSI automatic; 1.5 TSI DSG | ₹17,29,000; ₹18,84,000 |
The listed Slavia range therefore runs from ₹9,99,900 to ₹18,84,000 ex-showroom. The 1.5 TSI is limited to Prestige and Monte Carlo in this lineup, so a buyer wanting that engine must move to the upper trims.
Honda New Elevate prices announced October 6, 2026
| Trim | Manual (ex-showroom Delhi) | CVT (ex-showroom Delhi) |
|---|---|---|
| SV | ₹11,80,000 | Not offered |
| V | ₹12,29,000 | ₹13,79,000 |
| VX | ₹13,93,000 | ₹15,39,000 |
| ZX | ₹15,39,000 | ₹16,89,000 |
| ZX+ | ₹16,80,000 | ₹18,30,000 |
| ZX+ Black | ₹16,90,000 | ₹18,40,000 |
Honda’s manual range is ₹11,80,000–₹16,90,000 and its CVT range is ₹13,79,000–₹18,40,000 ex-showroom Delhi. Honda notes additional pricing for pearl and dual-tone colours. Because the location basis differs from Škoda’s India-wide statement, use local dealer quotations rather than subtracting one table from the other.
How to compare prices fairly
- Choose the body style and gearbox first. Do not compare a manual Elevate with an automatic Slavia and call the price difference a feature premium.
- List the equipment you actually need: automatic climate control, camera or surround view, driver-assistance functions, seat ventilation, wireless connectivity and safety equipment.
- Request itemised on-road quotations from both dealers in the same city. Ask for insurance provider, registration, extended warranty, accessories, colour charge and every optional fee to be shown separately.
- Check whether the quoted car is a 2026 refresh and whether the promised delivery date is written on the booking form.
Engines and transmissions: the biggest mechanical difference
Škoda Slavia 1.0 TSI
The Slavia 1.0 TSI produces 85 kW and is available with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed torque-converter automatic. This is the relevant Slavia for a buyer asking specifically about the “1ltr engine.” Turbocharging gives the engine a different torque-delivery character from a naturally aspirated engine, but the exact driving feel still depends on traffic, load, road gradient and gearbox calibration. Take both transmissions on a route that includes a crowded street, an open road and a hill or ramp if possible.

Škoda Slavia 1.5 TSI
The 1.5 TSI makes 110 kW and is paired with a seven-speed DSG. It is not available in every trim: the current list restricts it to Prestige and Monte Carlo. Its price and equipment level place it against the upper Elevate grades, so it should not be treated as a direct alternative to the entry Slavia 1.0.
Honda Elevate 1.5 i-VTEC
The Elevate uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine rated at 89 kW (121 PS) and 145 Nm. Buyers can choose a six-speed manual or a CVT with a seven-speed paddle-shift simulation. Honda reports certified fuel efficiency of 15.31 km/l for the manual and 16.61 km/l for the CVT. Those are certification figures, not a guarantee of an individual owner’s result; traffic, temperature, tyre pressure, air-conditioning use, passengers and driving style all affect consumption.

- Manual: Usually gives the driver direct control and can reduce purchase cost, but it requires clutch work in stop-and-go traffic. Compare clutch effort, bite point and low-speed smoothness during the test drive.
- Slavia 1.0 torque-converter automatic: The eight-speed specification offers a conventional automatic layout. Check how it responds when joining a fast road, creeping in a parking ramp and making a quick overtake.
- Slavia 1.5 DSG: This is the performance-oriented automatic option and is confined to expensive upper trims. Test low-speed behaviour and confirm the maintenance terms for the exact vehicle.
- Elevate CVT: It prioritises smooth, easy operation and includes paddle-shift simulation. Listen for engine-speed changes during hard acceleration and decide whether the response suits your driving style.
Dimensions, seating and luggage
Autocar India lists the following dimensions and capacities:
| Measure | Škoda Slavia | Honda Elevate |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 4,552 mm | 4,312 mm |
| Width | 1,752 mm | 1,790 mm |
| Height | 1,507 mm | 1,650 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,651 mm | 2,650 mm |
| Published boot capacity | 521–1,050 litres | 458 litres |
The Slavia is 240 mm longer but lower; the Elevate is shorter yet 143 mm taller and 38 mm wider. Their nearly identical listed wheelbases show why exterior body style alone cannot predict rear-seat space. The quoted boot figures may use different measurement conventions, especially the Slavia’s 521–1,050-litre range, so do not treat them as laboratory-equivalent numbers.
Do a real luggage and child-seat test
- Bring the largest suitcase, stroller or work equipment you regularly carry.
- Fit your child seat, then sit in front of it with your normal driving position.
- Check the boot opening height, loading lip, hinge intrusion and the ease of folding the rear seat.
- Have older passengers enter and exit both cars; the Elevate’s taller seating position may be easier for some, while others may prefer the Slavia’s lower step-in.
- Measure your parking space and check the turning approach, not only the published length and width.

Slavia equipment highlights
Škoda describes 360-degree Area View and front/rear Park Pilot on higher equipment. Signature includes connected infotainment and a rear camera, while Sportline adds 360-degree Area View. Prestige is described with ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats plus rear-seat massage. Confirm the exact feature list, screen specification, camera view and seat functions on the VIN-specific quotation.
Elevate equipment highlights
Honda’s 2026 release describes 360-degree surround vision, parking sensors, Honda SENSING driver assistance, ventilated front and rear seats, power-adjustable front seats, USB-C ports and other cabin updates. The release does not assign every item to every grade in the information available here. Ask the dealer to mark each feature against the exact SV, V, VX, ZX, ZX+ or ZX+ Black variant.
Features worth demonstrating instead of checking on a brochure
- Start-up and pairing time for the infotainment system.
- Camera clarity in daylight and at night, including the stitching of the 360-degree view.
- Visibility through the windscreen and rear glass with passengers aboard.
- Seat-cushion length, lumbar support and reach adjustment for every regular driver.
- USB-C location, charging speed and whether cables interfere with the gear selector or storage.
- Operation of adaptive or lane-support functions on a quiet road, with the driver remaining responsible at all times.
Safety equipment and crash-test claims
What Škoda states
Škoda says six airbags and more than 25 active and passive safety features are standard, with higher trims offering more than 40. It also says the refreshed Slavia carries forward five-star Global NCAP safety credentials. Verify the tested variant, model year and protocol if the rating is central to your decision; crash-test results are not automatically transferable between every engine, trim or production update.
What Honda states
Honda specifies six airbags, an ACE body structure and Honda SENSING functions including collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance. Low Speed Follow is specified on CVT variants. The October 2026 release reviewed for this comparison does not provide a directly comparable current Global NCAP result for the New Elevate.
How to compare safety responsibly
- Obtain the safety-equipment list for the exact trim and transmission you will buy.
- Separate standard equipment, optional equipment and functions restricted to an automatic variant.
- Keep a manufacturer’s feature claim separate from an independent crash-test score.
- Check whether driver assistance can be adjusted for your roads and driving habits, and learn its limitations before relying on it.
- Use seat belts and child restraints correctly; electronic aids do not replace attentive driving.

Which car makes more sense for common use cases?
Mostly city commuting with frequent traffic
Choose the gearbox that reduces fatigue first. The Slavia 1.0 automatic and Elevate CVT are the relevant choices. Drive both at walking pace, over speed breakers and through tight parking spaces. The Elevate’s taller seating may improve perceived visibility for some drivers; the Slavia’s lower sedan body may feel easier to place for others. Do not decide from the badge or body style alone.
Highway travel with frequent overtaking
The Slavia offers more powertrain breadth: the turbo 1.0 and the 1.5 TSI DSG provide alternatives at different budgets. The Elevate’s 1.5 i-VTEC can be perfectly suitable, but its naturally aspirated response and CVT behaviour should be judged with passengers and luggage aboard. Use a legal, safe road and evaluate acceleration without treating a short test drive as a performance measurement.
Family use and easy access
The Elevate’s SUV height can make entry, child-seat loading and visibility feel more convenient. The Slavia’s wheelbase is effectively the same on the published figures, and its listed boot capacity is larger, but the actual opening and loading height matter more than litres on paper. Bring the family and their usual luggage to the dealership.
A buyer who wants the lowest entry price
The Slavia Classic 1.0 TSI manual is listed at ₹9,99,900 ex-showroom, below the Elevate SV manual at ₹11,80,000 ex-showroom Delhi. That is not a like-for-like value verdict: the cars differ in body style, engine output, equipment and location basis. Compare the on-road cost and standard features of the trims you would genuinely purchase.

A buyer who wants maximum equipment
Start with Slavia Prestige or Monte Carlo and Elevate ZX+, then create a feature checklist. The Slavia Prestige is the grade associated with ventilated, electrically adjustable front seats and rear-seat massage; the Elevate release lists ventilated front and rear seats and power-adjustable fronts among its updates, with grade allocation to be confirmed. A written brochure or variant sheet is essential.

Test-drive and purchase checklist
- Record the vehicle identification number, manufacturing month and refresh/model-year designation.
- Drive the manual and automatic version you are actually considering; do not infer one gearbox’s behaviour from another.
- Test the route with a cold start, low-speed traffic, a ramp, a rough patch and an open-road merge.
- Set your seat, then check rear legroom, child-seat clearance, headroom and visibility.
- Load your own luggage and inspect the boot opening, fold-flat function and rear-seat release.
- Demonstrate every paid-for safety and convenience feature, including cameras, parking sensors and driver assistance.
- Ask for the service schedule, warranty booklet, roadside-assistance terms and extended-cover prices in writing.
- Compare two itemised on-road quotes with the same insurance assumptions and no unwanted accessories.
- Confirm colour premiums, delivery date, cancellation terms and whether any offer is conditional on financing or exchange.
Decision framework
Use this order so a low advertised price or a single feature does not decide the purchase by accident:
- Body style: Pick sedan or SUV based on access, visibility, parking and family comfort.
- Transmission: Decide manual, Slavia automatic, Slavia DSG or Elevate CVT before comparing trims.
- Budget: Set an on-road ceiling, not only an ex-showroom target.
- Powertrain: Choose between Slavia’s turbo options and Elevate’s naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine after a loaded test drive.
- Equipment: Match cameras, seats, infotainment and assistance systems on the exact grades.
- Safety evidence: Compare standard equipment and crash-test information separately and note model-year differences.
- Ownership support: Read warranty conditions and verify service access in your city.
Verdict
Buy the Škoda Slavia if you specifically want a sedan, value turbo-petrol choices or need the 1.0 TSI with a conventional automatic, and are comfortable selecting an upper trim for the 1.5 TSI DSG. Its published boot figure is larger, although the capacity measurements should be treated cautiously.
Buy the Honda Elevate if you prefer an SUV’s taller seating and access, want a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol with manual or CVT choices, or find its cabin and Honda SENSING package better suited to your family. Confirm which grade contains each advertised feature.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor either car, the defensible choice is the exact 2026 trim that fits your body-style preference, transmission needs, written local on-road quote, luggage test and service arrangements. Neither model is a universal winner, and no independent reliability or lifetime-cost statistic establishes one as cheaper to own.
