The India-market Skoda Slavia facelift, unveiled on 18 August 2026, updates the sedan’s styling, equipment and gearbox choices without changing its MQB-A0-IN platform or TSI engine family. The biggest mechanical addition is an eight-speed torque-converter automatic for the 1.0 TSI; the 1.5 TSI continues with a seven-speed DSG and gains rear disc brakes.
What changed in the Slavia facelift?
Updated exterior and trim choices
Škoda has revised the front and rear structures, added new LED headlamps and taillamps, and introduced sequential rear turn indicators. A chrome strip now crosses the grille, and the alloy-wheel designs are new. The overall silhouette and proportions remain familiar. Two new paint colours are Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige. Škoda Auto India’s announcement describes the refreshed design and equipment.

The initial range is named Classic, Classic+, Signature, Sportline and Prestige, with Monte Carlo available from launch. Škoda distinguishes Monte Carlo with dual-tone exterior colours, black accents, dedicated badging and rally-inspired details.

New gearbox for the 1.0 TSI
The 1.0 TSI can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a newly introduced eight-speed torque-converter automatic. The update adds that automatic without removing the manual option. The 1.5 TSI remains paired with a seven-speed DSG and is automatic-only in the facelift range, according to Autocar India’s report.

The 1.5 TSI versions also gain rear disc brakes. Škoda continues to describe the Slavia’s powertrain family as the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI; the original 2021 launch announcement listed outputs of 115 PS and 150 PS respectively. Those figures are the 2021 baseline, not a new facelift-specific power-output claim. The original launch announcement is the source for that baseline.
More parking and cabin features
The update adds a 360-degree Area View camera, Park Pilot and front parking sensors. A rear-seat massage function is another headline comfort addition. Equipment varies by trim: Autocar reports the massage function is limited to Prestige and Monte Carlo, while Škoda had not specified the 360-degree camera’s variant availability in the report.

Škoda lists a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit and 10.1-inch infotainment system, plus wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment system gains an AI Companion powered by Google Cloud’s Automotive AI Agent. Škoda says the assistant is developed to recognise Indian English accents and can provide information through voice commands and enable hands-free controls. Autocar reports that the 10.25-inch instrument display is limited to Prestige and Monte Carlo; other trims have smaller or analogue displays. Check the final trim specification before choosing a particular variant.

Autocar reports that the air-conditioning system moves from a fixed-geometry to a variable-geometry compressor. The reported improvement in climate-control performance is a manufacturer claim, not an independently measured result.

What stayed the same?
Platform and engine family
The facelift retains the India-developed MQB-A0-IN platform and the established 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI petrol-engine family. Its powertrain changes are about the 1.0 TSI’s new automatic option and the 1.5 TSI’s continued DSG pairing, rather than a new engine family.
Safety credentials
Škoda says the updated Slavia carries forward the model’s five-star Global NCAP rating and six airbags. The international release specifies five stars for adult and child occupant protection. This is the model’s carried-forward rating, not a newly conducted crash test of the facelift. The manufacturer also states that the range has more than 25 active and passive safety features, including six airbags as standard.

What does the 2026 announcement say about price and booking?

How to compare the facelift with the earlier Slavia
- Transmission: Look for the new eight-speed automatic if you want a 1.0 TSI automatic; the 1.0 manual and 1.5 DSG pairings carry forward.
- Brakes: The 1.5 TSI facelift versions gain rear discs.
