Škoda Slavia buying guide: Which 2026 variant should you choose?

A complete India-market guide to the 2026 Škoda Slavia lineup: Classic, Classic+, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo, with exact launch prices and powertrain advice.

The right Škoda Slavia depends on three decisions: how much equipment you need, which automatic or manual transmission suits your driving, and whether comfort or sporty styling matters most. The Classic is the lowest-priced manual. Classic+ adds the sunroof, LED lighting, alloys and the first 1.0 TSI automatic. Signature is the technology step-up. Sportline adds sportier styling and a 360-degree camera. Prestige is the comfort and performance choice, including the 1.5 TSI DSG. Monte Carlo retains Prestige equipment with black-and-red styling and is automatic-only.

Škoda Auto India announced this six-trim range on October 6, 2026. All prices below are manufacturer-listed ex-showroom figures for India, not on-road prices. Registration, insurance, road tax, dealer charges, discounts and local stock can change the amount you pay, so obtain a current written quote from an authorised dealer.

Quick decision guide

If your priority is… Start with… Why
Lowest listed price and a manual gearbox Classic It is the entry combination and includes the core safety and climate equipment.
An affordable automatic or a sunroof Classic+ It is the first trim with the 1.0 TSI eight-speed torque-converter automatic and adds an electric openable sunroof.
A larger screen, connected functions and a reversing camera Signature It introduces the larger displays, AI Assistant, inbuilt connectivity and rear-view camera.
Sportier appearance and easier parking Sportline It adds sport-focused exterior details, R16 Ving Black alloys and 360-degree Area View.
Maximum comfort or the 1.5-litre engine Prestige It adds ventilated, electrically adjustable front seats, rear-seat massage and the 1.5 TSI DSG option.
Prestige equipment with distinctive black-and-red styling Monte Carlo It keeps the Prestige specification but is limited to automatic powertrains.

These recommendations are based on Škoda’s published equipment and drivetrain matrix, not independent road testing. If you are undecided, choose the gearbox first, then identify the lowest trim that contains your must-have features.

2026 Slavia variants and launch prices

The launch combinations are not interchangeable: some trims are manual-only, while the 1.5 TSI DSG is restricted to the two highest lines. The following are the exact announced ex-showroom prices.

Monte Carlo 1.0 TSI AT Eight-speed torque-converter automatic ₹17,29,000
Monte Carlo 1.5 TSI DSG Seven-speed DSG automatic ₹18,84,000

MT means six-speed manual, AT means the eight-speed torque-converter automatic paired with the 1.0 TSI, and DSG means the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic paired with the 1.5 TSI. The prices are tied to the October 6, 2026 announcement; Škoda’s model information warns that prices, specifications, equipment and availability may change.

What the price steps tell you

Comparing like-for-like gearboxes helps separate equipment cost from transmission cost. Classic+ manual is ₹99,100 above Classic. Its automatic costs ₹1,50,000 more than the Classic+ manual. Moving from Classic+ manual to Signature manual adds ₹2,95,000, while the equivalent automatic step from Classic+ AT to Signature AT is ₹2,45,000. Sportline costs ₹40,000 more than Signature with either the manual or automatic, adding the styling and Area View package.

Prestige is ₹1,55,000 above Sportline at each 1.0 gearbox. Within Prestige, the 1.5 TSI DSG is ₹1,70,000 above the 1.0 AT. Monte Carlo 1.0 AT is ₹40,000 above Prestige 1.0 AT, and Monte Carlo 1.5 DSG is ₹25,000 above the equivalent Prestige DSG. These are launch-price differences only; taxes, insurance, accessories and discounts can change the final on-road gap.

Engine and transmission choices

1.0 TSI with six-speed manual

The 1.0 TSI manual is the broadest powertrain in the range. It starts in Classic and continues through Classic+, Signature, Sportline and Prestige. A manual avoids the automatic premium and gives the driver direct gear selection, but it requires clutch use in stop-and-go traffic. The Classic is the only launch combination listed exclusively with this gearbox.

Choose this route if you are comfortable changing gears, want the lowest entry cost, or prefer to spend your budget on equipment rather than an automatic. It is also the only way to buy a Classic, and the only manual available in the Prestige equipment line. A test drive should include ramps, traffic and parking manoeuvres so every regular driver can assess clutch effort and visibility.

1.0 TSI with eight-speed automatic

The 1.0 TSI AT is an eight-speed torque-converter automatic. It first appears in Classic+ and is also offered in Signature, Sportline and Prestige. Monte Carlo uses this automatic as its less-expensive powertrain. When comparing trims, separate the cost of moving to the automatic from the cost of adding equipment: the price difference between a manual and automatic varies by trim.

There is no Classic automatic, so the least expensive automatic Slavia is the Classic+ 1.0 AT at ₹12,49,000 ex-showroom. This gearbox suits urban commuting and drivers who want two-pedal convenience without moving to the 1.5-litre engine. Confirm that the quotation says “1.0 TSI AT”; “automatic” alone does not identify the transmission in this range.

1.5 TSI with seven-speed DSG

The 1.5 TSI DSG is the range’s higher-capacity engine and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. It is available only in Prestige and Monte Carlo. Buyers who specifically want this engine therefore need to accept one of those two equipment packages; there is no lower-trim 1.5 TSI DSG listed in the launch matrix.

The Prestige 1.5 TSI DSG is ₹18,59,000, while the Monte Carlo version is ₹18,84,000. The ₹25,000 difference buys the Monte Carlo appearance treatment, not a different DSG specification. Do not assume the 1.5 TSI can be ordered with Sportline or with a manual gearbox: neither combination is listed.

What each trim adds

Classic: the essential manual

Classic is built around the lowest announced entry price and a manual transmission. Standard equipment listed by Škoda includes six airbags, more than 25 active and passive safety features, Climatronic automatic air conditioning, a rear defogger and a 17.7 cm touchscreen. Its wheels are R15 steel units with covers.

Rank #2

This trim makes sense when the priority is entering the Slavia range without paying for a larger display, sunroof, premium seats or automatic gearbox. The safety and climate equipment means it is not a bare shell, but it does not include the visual and convenience upgrades introduced higher up. Check the actual vehicle supplied by the dealer, because equipment and availability can change after the launch announcement.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Classic+: the first useful upgrade

Classic+ adds features that are difficult to retrofit cleanly: an electric openable sunroof, R16 alloy wheels, all-LED lighting, rain-sensing wipers and an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror. It is also the gateway to the 1.0 TSI eight-speed automatic.

For a buyer who wants an automatic but does not need the connected technology of Signature, Classic+ is the logical starting point. Compare the manual and automatic prices separately; the automatic is a distinct launch combination rather than a gearbox option that can be added later to every car. If the sunroof is your only reason to move up, Classic+ is the lowest matching trim.

Signature: the technology and connectivity step

Signature changes the cabin more substantially than Classic+. It brings a 20.32 cm Virtual Cockpit, a 25.6 cm touchscreen, a Google Cloud-powered AI Assistant, inbuilt connectivity and a rear-view camera. R16 alloy wheels are listed as part of the package, and both the 1.0 manual and 1.0 automatic are available.

The rear-view camera and larger screens matter most if you regularly park in tight urban spaces or spend time using connected functions. If a sunroof is your main wish, Classic+ already provides it; Signature’s extra cost is primarily justified by its displays, connectivity and camera. Ask which connected services require a paired phone, account or network coverage, and have the dealer demonstrate the functions on the exact car.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Sportline: appearance and 360-degree parking assistance

Sportline builds on the Signature specification with a sportier appearance, R16 Ving Black alloy wheels and a 360-degree Area View camera. The 1.0 TSI manual and automatic remain the available powertrains.

Area View combines camera perspectives to give a broader view around the car than a conventional rear camera. It is useful for judging obstacles and narrow spaces, but it does not replace mirrors, direct observation or careful low-speed driving. Camera lenses can be obscured by rain, mud or darkness, so retain normal observation habits. Sportline is the visual choice for buyers who want a more assertive design without moving to the 1.5 TSI.

Prestige: the comfort and performance ceiling

Prestige adds the range’s richest comfort specification. The listed equipment includes a 26.03 cm Virtual Cockpit, 360-degree Area View, R16 Savio dual-tone alloy wheels, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, and rear-seat massage. It is the first trim available with the 1.5 TSI DSG, while retaining 1.0 TSI manual and automatic versions.

Because three powertrain combinations are available, Prestige should be treated as a family of choices rather than one fixed specification. A Prestige 1.0 manual and a Prestige 1.5 DSG share the equipment level but differ in gearbox, engine and price. Confirm the exact variant code on the quotation so the ordered powertrain matches the one you drove or inspected. Seat ventilation and massage are comfort features worth testing in person, especially if more than one driver will use the car.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Monte Carlo: Prestige equipment with a special design

Monte Carlo retains the Prestige equipment and adds Monte Carlo badging, red stripes, black exterior elements and R16 Savio Black alloy wheels. It is offered only with the 1.0 TSI eight-speed automatic or the 1.5 TSI seven-speed DSG; there is no manual Monte Carlo in the announced range.

Rank #3
KiNSMART 1962 Volkswagen Classic Bus 1:32 Scale 5" Die Cast Metal Model Toy Van Pullback Acation (4 Set Surfboard Flower Power)
  • AUTHENTIC DESIGN: Highly detailed 1:32 scale replica of the iconic 1962 Volkswagen Bus classic emblem
  • INTERACTIVE FEATURES: Features pull-back motor action and opening side doors for enhanced play value and display options
  • QUALITY CONSTRUCTION: Built with durable die-cast metal body, rubber tires, and detailed plastic components for lasting durability
  • PERFECT SIZE: Measures approximately 5 inches in length, making it ideal for collectors and play
  • REALISTIC DETAILS: Includes authentic interior detailing, chrome-look trim, and classic two-tone paint scheme characteristic of vintage VW buses

The 1.0 AT and 1.5 DSG give Monte Carlo two different driving specifications, but both carry the premium styling package. Choose between them according to the powertrain decision rather than assuming the appearance package changes the transmission hardware. Compare paint, trim and wheel details on the physical car, since special-edition appearance items can be the most visible differences at delivery.

How to make the price-versus-equipment decision

Start with the gearbox

First decide whether you will accept a clutch pedal. If yes, five trims have a 1.0 manual listing, from Classic through Prestige. If you want an automatic, the 1.0 AT begins at Classic+ and continues through Monte Carlo, while the 1.5 DSG is confined to Prestige and Monte Carlo.

This first filter prevents a common mistake: comparing a trim that looks right but cannot be ordered with your preferred transmission. Write the complete combination before asking for a quote, including engine, gearbox and trim.

Separate must-have equipment from nice-to-have equipment

  • Sunroof, LED lighting and alloys: these begin with Classic+.
  • Large displays, AI Assistant, inbuilt connectivity and rear camera: these begin with Signature.
  • 360-degree Area View: this is listed on Sportline and above.
  • Ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats plus rear-seat massage: these are Prestige features retained by Monte Carlo.
  • Sport-focused exterior details: Sportline and Monte Carlo both provide them, with Monte Carlo adding the more extensive black-and-red treatment.

Buying the lowest trim and adding individual accessories later will not reproduce every integrated feature, especially cameras, seat ventilation, connected hardware or factory lighting. Conversely, paying for Prestige solely for a sunroof is unnecessary because the sunroof arrives earlier.

Account for unavailable combinations

The lineup has gaps that can affect your shortlist. There is no Classic automatic, no Sportline 1.5 TSI, no Monte Carlo manual and no 1.5 TSI DSG below Prestige. If a particular engine and gearbox are non-negotiable, eliminate trims that do not list that combination before comparing equipment.

Match the trim to your use

A daily city commuter who values easy driving can begin with Classic+ AT. A buyer who drives mostly on open roads and enjoys manual control may find Classic or Signature MT sufficient. Families who frequently carry passengers may value Prestige’s electrically adjustable, ventilated front seats and rear-seat massage more than Monte Carlo’s styling premium. Drivers who park in tight spaces should compare Signature’s rear camera with Sportline or Prestige’s Area View and decide whether the wider camera view justifies the step up.

If several family members will drive the car, do not choose solely from a brochure. Have each person sit in the rear, inspect the screen position, try the seat adjustments and check whether the camera display is easy to interpret. A feature is useful only if the household can operate and maintain it comfortably.

Safety, cameras and cabin technology

Škoda says six airbags and more than 25 active and passive safety features are standard throughout the range, with more than 40 safety features on higher variants. The company also says the Slavia carries forward its five-star Global NCAP safety credentials. These are manufacturer statements; equipment can vary by exact variant and future model-year changes, so inspect the safety-equipment sheet attached to your quotation.

“More than 25” and “over 40” are manufacturer totals, not a promise that every higher-trim feature is fitted to every car. Ask for the exact safety list, including the operation of parking cameras and any driver-assistance functions, and check that the vehicle identification on the sheet matches the car being delivered.

The technology progression is clear: Classic starts with a 17.7 cm touchscreen; Signature moves to a 25.6 cm touchscreen and adds the 20.32 cm Virtual Cockpit, AI Assistant and inbuilt connectivity; Prestige raises the instrument display to 26.03 cm. Rear-view camera equipment starts with Signature, while 360-degree Area View is listed from Sportline upward.

Warranty, services and roadside assistance

The October announcement describes a standard warranty of four years or 100,000 kilometres, whichever comes first, together with four years of roadside assistance. It also lists four labour-free services up to two years or 30,000 kilometres, an option to extend the warranty by two years, a six-year corrosion warranty and a three-year paint warranty.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

These benefits have conditions and exclusions. Ask the dealer to put the warranty start date, kilometre limits, service intervals, roadside-assistance scope and any extension price in writing. Confirm whether a used, demonstrator or delayed-delivery vehicle receives the same coverage as a fresh retail delivery. Clarify what happens if the kilometre limit is reached before the time limit, and whether the labour-free services cover consumables or only labour.

Buying process and availability checks

  1. Build a written shortlist. Record the trim, engine and gearbox exactly, such as “Prestige 1.5 TSI DSG,” rather than only the trim name.
  2. Request a current ex-showroom and on-road quote. The launch prices do not include city-specific registration, road tax, insurance or dealer charges.
  3. Verify the equipment sheet. Check the sunroof, wheel design, camera system, seat functions, displays and connectivity against the quoted variant.
  4. Inspect the vehicle identification and delivery condition. Ask for the manufacturing date, odometer reading, warranty start date and confirmation that the car is not a display or demonstrator vehicle.
  5. Confirm service and roadside terms. Obtain the labour-free-service schedule and warranty-extension conditions before signing.
  6. Check local stock and delivery timing. Škoda said deliveries were slated to start the week after October 6, 2026, but that announcement is not a guarantee of availability in your city.
  7. Compare the final invoice. Match the quoted ex-showroom price with the current official figure, then review insurance, registration, handling fees, accessories and any discount as separate lines.
  8. Document promises. Put colour, accessories, delivery date, finance conditions and exchange valuation in writing; verbal assurances are difficult to verify later.

The official model page provides online booking and a dealer-finder route. Use those channels to confirm current stock, colour availability, quotation validity and delivery timing rather than relying on the launch list alone. Booking is not the same as confirmed delivery, so ask about cancellation terms and the point at which the final price is locked.

What the published information does not establish

No city-level on-road price, dealer discount, live inventory, location-specific delivery date or independently measured fuel-economy result is established here. There are also no independent comparative test findings or verified referral-program terms. Treat the announcement prices and equipment as a starting point, then verify the commercial and specification details with an authorised dealer. The launch announcement’s statement that deliveries would begin the week after October 6, 2026 is a planned start, not proof that a particular dealer has a car ready.

Škoda Auto India said nearly 80,000 Slavia cars had been sold to date in an August 18, 2026 unveiling announcement. That is a dated company statement attributed to Martin Jahn, Škoda Auto Board Member for Sales and Marketing, not an independently audited sales tally. Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Škoda Auto India, described the Slavia as combining the design, driving experience, safety and engineering associated with the brand.
