The Singer DLS Turbo is not a mass-produced Porsche model. It is a personalized restoration and modification service built around an owner-supplied Porsche 911 Type 964. Singer’s first completed example, the track-focused Sorcerer, is reported at 710 HP (SAE net), 750 Nm and 9000 rpm, with a six-speed manual, rear-wheel drive and modern Bosch-developed driver aids. Every commissioned car can differ, so Sorcerer’s equipment is an example rather than a universal specification.
What is the Singer DLS Turbo?
DLS Turbo is Singer Vehicle Design’s bespoke restoration program for the Porsche 911 Type 964. The customer supplies the donor car, and Singer carries out restoration and modification in collaboration with that owner. This is fundamentally different from buying a finished production trim: the owner’s priorities, intended use and selected equipment shape the result.

The program builds on Singer’s Dynamics and Lightweighting Study (DLS) engine and chassis work, then adds twin-turbocharging while preserving the character of a high-revving flat-six. Singer announced the DLS Turbo service in June 2023. The first completed car, named Sorcerer, was presented in January 2026. Sorcerer demonstrates what the service can produce, but it does not establish a standard DLS Turbo trim or a fixed equipment list.
The stated historical reference is the Porsche 934/5 endurance racer from the late 1970s. That influence can appear in bodywork and aerodynamic decisions, while the underlying brief remains owner-specific: a road car, a track car or a deliberate blend of both.

How much power does DLS Turbo make?
The 2023 service announcement
In its June 2023 announcement, Singer described a 3.8-litre flat-six with four valves per cylinder, twin turbochargers, electric wastegates, air-to-water intercooling and a horizontally mounted electrically powered fan. Singer said this engine evolution developed outputs above 700 HP at more than 9000 rpm.
The 2026 Sorcerer specification
For Sorcerer, Singer reports 710 HP measured to the SAE net standard and 750 Nm of torque. The engine is still a 3.8-litre, four-valves-per-cylinder, twin-turbo flat-six, with variable turbine geometry, water-cooled cylinder heads, air-cooled cylinders, an electrically powered horizontal fan and a stated 9000-rpm engine speed.
Those figures need to stay attached to their context. “710 HP (SAE net)” is Singer’s published rating for Sorcerer in 2026; it is not a guaranteed output for every future commission. The earlier “more than 700 HP” statement describes the service’s engine evolution in 2023. Singer does not publish a complete range of outputs for every possible owner configuration.

Is the DLS Turbo manual and rear-wheel drive?
Sorcerer is rear-wheel drive and uses a six-speed manual gearbox. Singer’s published material does not say that every DLS Turbo commission must use exactly that transmission or drivetrain specification, but the Sorcerer configuration confirms that the turbocharged DLS concept can retain a traditional manual, rear-drive layout rather than requiring an automated or all-wheel-drive system.
Suspension and brakes on Sorcerer
The completed car uses double-wishbone front suspension and lightweight trailing arms at the rear. Braking hardware is listed as CCM-R carbon-ceramic discs with monobloc calipers. These are Sorcerer’s documented components; a different owner brief could alter equipment, calibration or specification.

What electronic controls and comfort equipment are available?
Driver-control systems
Sorcerer has anti-lock braking (ABS), traction control and electronic stability control developed with Bosch. Five selectable modes—Road, Sport, Track, Off and Weather—change the intervention strategy of the traction and stability systems. In practice, that gives the owner a way to move between a more conservative road calibration, a sportier setting and reduced or disabled assistance for appropriate closed-course use.
The mode names do not mean that the car becomes a different mechanical model in each setting. They alter electronic intervention. Drivers should still match the setting to conditions, tires, temperature and the legal environment; “Off” is not a guarantee of extra grip or safety.

Singer lists air conditioning, navigation, Apple CarPlay connectivity and a nose-lift system on Sorcerer. Those details show that a DLS Turbo can combine extreme engine and chassis hardware with everyday-use features. They do not prove that every customer car receives the same electronics, infotainment, lift system or cabin specification. Equipment is part of the owner’s commission.
How can an owner customize a DLS Turbo?
The most important customization decision is the intended use. Singer describes road-focused and track-focused directions, with the option to specify a car that combines both. The practical decisions fall into four connected areas: aerodynamic configuration, control-system behavior, chassis and tire choices, and comfort equipment.
Road-focused configuration
In the 2023 service announcement, Singer showed a road-focused car finished in Moet Blanc with a ducktail rear spoiler and a road-oriented front fascia. The example illustrates how a customer can prioritize visual restraint, road usability and a classic 911 interpretation while still using the turbocharged DLS powertrain.

Switchable aero
Singer says an owner may specify a car capable of accepting both road and track aerodynamic configurations. In that arrangement, the front fascia and rear decklid assembly are removable and switchable. That is a significant practical distinction from a permanently fixed aero package: the owner can commission alternate body assemblies and change the car’s presentation and aerodynamic intent for different uses.

Sorcerer is a separate, track-focused interpretation. Singer says its lightweight carbon-fibre bodywork is inspired by the Porsche 934.5 endurance racer, and that the original Type 964 monocoque is augmented with chassis strengthening. Sorcerer also uses 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged-magnesium centre-lock wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
The wheel diameters, center-lock arrangement, tire model and 934.5-inspired bodywork belong to Sorcerer’s published specification. They should not be treated as standard fitment for every DLS Turbo. Tire dimensions, heat cycles, road legality and wet-weather behavior should be confirmed with a qualified specialist for the exact commissioned car.
What the published material does not specify
Singer does not publish a complete universal options menu, option prices or a single specification sheet covering all DLS Turbo cars. It is therefore not possible to infer that a particular aero part, wheel size, tire, seat, control calibration or comfort feature is available on every commission without confirmation from Singer and the owner’s build documentation.

How does commissioning and ownership work?
The donor car matters
The process starts with the customer’s Porsche 911 Type 964. Singer’s service is therefore a restoration of an existing owner-supplied car, not a newly manufactured 911 sold from a conventional dealer inventory. The condition, identity and suitability of the donor become important parts of the project before mechanical and cosmetic decisions are finalized.

Owner collaboration
Singer describes the work as being carried out in collaboration with the owner. A sensible commissioning discussion should establish intended road and track use, desired aero arrangement, electronic intervention preferences, comfort requirements, wheel and tire objectives, and the level of originality or racing influence wanted in the finish. The published material confirms those decision areas but does not provide a public universal build form.
What to document before agreeing to a build
- Record the donor Type 964’s identity, title status, condition and existing modifications.
- Define whether the priority is road use, track use or a planned combination, including the circuits and climates involved.
- List required comfort and navigation features, nose-lift needs and smartphone connectivity expectations.
- Specify the desired aero assemblies and ask how removal, storage and switching are handled.
- Confirm wheel, tire, brake and control-system choices for the intended surfaces and local regulations.
- Request written confirmation of what is included in the commission, what remains owner-supplied and how future support is handled.
Does Singer publish a price, allocation or delivery time?
The official material available for DLS Turbo does not establish a current commissioning price, queue or delivery estimate, production cap, warranty terms, routine maintenance schedule, parts catalogue or general compatibility guide. Those omissions matter because this is a bespoke restoration rather than a standardized retail car.
Do not treat unrelated Singer program estimates, resale asking prices or internet speculation as a DLS Turbo price. Anyone considering a commission should request current commercial terms directly from Singer, including the treatment of the donor car, payment stages, scope changes, completion conditions, warranty coverage and post-delivery support.
How is DLS Turbo tested?
Singer says development cars undergo intensive evaluation at proving grounds including Millbrook in the United Kingdom, IDIADA in Spain, Nardò in Italy and the Nürburgring in Germany. Singer also says TÜV certification for its services is carried out at the Nürburgring. The Sorcerer release describes extensive road and track testing conducted by Singer at its UK facility.

Why does the Porsche 934/5 matter to the design?
The Porsche 934/5 was a late-1970s endurance-racing reference for the DLS Turbo program. Sorcerer makes that connection visible through its 934.5-inspired lightweight carbon-fibre bodywork, while the road-oriented example uses a ducktail and a more restrained front treatment. The heritage theme is therefore interpreted differently according to the owner’s brief rather than imposed as one fixed appearance.
Rob Dickinson, Singer’s Founder, Executive Chairman and Creative Director, described the intent this way: “With DLS Turbo we wanted to celebrate the 911’s evolution as an icon on both road and track and to explore the possibilities offered by turbocharging the remarkable engine developed through the DLS program.”
Mazen Fawaz, Singer’s Chief Strategy Officer, summarized the engineering target as follows: “The goal was to combine the power and torque of turbocharging with the high-revving character of the DLS engine, while celebrating the heritage of the Porsche 911.”
What should a prospective owner verify?
Because published cars are examples rather than a common trim, a buyer or commissioning owner should separate confirmed project terms from assumptions. The following questions are more useful than relying on photographs of another car:
- Which exact engine output, torque target and rev limit apply to this commission?
- Is the gearbox six-speed manual and rear-wheel drive, or is another arrangement being proposed?
- Which body panels and aero assemblies are included, and can they be switched without additional fabrication?
- What ABS, traction-control and stability-control modes will be delivered, and how are they calibrated?
- Which wheels, tires and brake materials are approved for the intended road and circuit use?
- Are air conditioning, navigation, Apple CarPlay and nose lift included or optional on this car?
- What certification, road-registration and emissions requirements apply in the owner’s jurisdiction?
- What warranty, maintenance, parts and technical-support commitments are written into the agreement?
Those answers determine the real ownership experience more reliably than the Sorcerer name or a headline horsepower figure. They also prevent an owner from assuming that a track-focused specification, tire or aero package automatically suits a road-registered car.
