Renault Korea advertises 31 driver-assistance systems, with the exact set varying by trim, and three 12.3-inch displays on specified versions. Treat those as published product claims rather than evidence that every trim has identical screens or assistance functions. Ask the dealer for the equipment sheet for the precise model year and grade you are considering.
Price, model year and availability
A retrieved version of Renault Korea’s page shows a starting price of 3,581만원 for the 2027 model-year techno trim. That is a dated web-page figure, not a guaranteed transaction price. Renault Korea’s site also links to current purchase benefits, a price estimate, immediate-delivery inventory and test-drive or consultation options. Promotions, taxes, registration costs, stock and delivery estimates can change, so request a written local quote before treating the number as your budget.

Renault Korea’s news listing includes a September 8, 2026 announcement concerning the 2027 Grand Koleos and an étoile edition. Use the official news listing to check whether a newly announced edition changes equipment, pricing or availability in your market. The exact car in dealer stock may not match the web configuration you first viewed.
What Renault Korea has actually announced about an EV
The 2028 Busan statement
According to Yonhap’s April 14, 2026 report, Renault Korea CEO Nicolas Paris said the company planned to launch new models annually through 2029 and begin production of next-generation EVs at the Busan plant in 2028. The report also described work toward a local EV ecosystem, including battery production.
This is meaningful industrial planning, but it is not a retail specification sheet. The cited announcement does not name the first Korean-market battery EV, state its range or charging rate, publish a price, open reservations or promise a customer-delivery month. Plans can also move as product, supply-chain and regulatory decisions change.
Production start is not the same as a sales date
An automaker can announce a factory production milestone before it confirms homologation, final equipment, pricing, dealer allocation or customer handover. Even if assembly starts during 2028, Korean buyers still need an official order-opening notice and a vehicle-specific delivery schedule. Until those appear, “available in 2028” would overstate what has been established.

An older 2022 report discussed a possible 2026 first-EV target, but the newer 2026 roadmap is the relevant public reference. Treat the older target as superseded rather than as a current guaranteed launch promise.
Do not confuse Renault Filante with the future battery EV
Renault Filante is the most important source of potential confusion. Renault Group’s January 13, 2026 announcement describes Filante as a premium or flagship crossover with a full-hybrid E-Tech 250 ps powertrain and scheduled its South Korean launch for March 2026. The Renault Group announcement identifies that drivetrain explicitly.

Its appearance as a new SUV or crossover therefore does not answer the question “Is Renault Korea launching an electric SUV?” in the battery-electric sense. Filante is a hybrid; the unnamed vehicle connected to Busan’s 2028 production plan is the separate, still-unspecified EV program. Renault Group’s announcement quotes Fabrice Cambolive, Chief Growth Officer of Renault Group and CEO of the Renault brand, saying: “We are opening a new chapter in the Renault International Game Plan 2027, here in Korea which plays a central role in our global ambitions.” That statement describes strategic importance, not a customer launch specification.
Check Renault Korea’s official homepage for the latest model labels. A vehicle called “E-Tech” may be a hybrid unless Renault explicitly identifies it as a battery-electric vehicle.

When buying the Grand Koleos makes more sense
You need an SUV on a defined schedule
If your current vehicle is unreliable, a lease is ending, or a family move requires additional space soon, a known configuration is worth more than an unpriced promise. Start with the Grand Koleos trim you can actually drive, then confirm that the dealer has the color, drivetrain and equipment you want rather than assuming every listed version is immediately available.
You are comfortable with hybrid or gasoline power
The hybrid E-Tech gives you a published 245 ps system output and a manufacturer economy figure for a specified trim. The gasoline range gives you 2WD or 4WD choices on applicable trims. If those powertrains satisfy your use, waiting solely for an unknown battery vehicle adds schedule risk without giving you a specification to evaluate.

The delivered quote fits your budget
Use the current local quote, not the 3,581만원 web-page starting figure alone. Have the dealer separate vehicle price, options, registration, insurance, financing, trade-in allowance and any temporary benefit. A lower advertised starting price can cease to apply when you select a different drivetrain or equipment grade.

Battery-electric propulsion is a hard requirement
If you specifically want a battery EV and would reject a hybrid even at a similar price, the Grand Koleos cannot solve that requirement. Waiting is reasonable provided you accept that the vehicle’s name, range, charging capability, price and order date are not yet known.

You can keep your current vehicle without a costly stopgap
Waiting works best when your current car remains safe and dependable and you are not paying avoidable repair, rental or financing costs. Set a personal deadline rather than an indefinite promise: for example, continue monitoring Renault Korea announcements through a date that matches your replacement needs, then reassess using whatever product information exists at that point.
You are willing to verify the roadmap repeatedly
Follow Renault Korea’s model and news pages for a named vehicle, reservation instructions and Korean specifications. A 2028 production statement is subject to change; it should trigger periodic checks, not a deposit based on assumptions.

A practical decision process
- Define the non-negotiables. Write down whether battery-electric propulsion, 4WD, passenger capacity, towing, a maximum monthly payment or a delivery deadline is mandatory. This prevents a hybrid SUV from being treated as a substitute for an EV requirement.
- Get a current Grand Koleos build and quote. Use Renault Korea’s price-estimate and consultation links, select the exact model year, trim, drivetrain, wheel size and options, and ask for the expected delivery date in writing.
- Test-drive the actual powertrain. Drive the hybrid and, if relevant, the gasoline configuration you would buy. Check seating, cargo access, display layout, driver-assistance behavior and road noise with your normal passengers.
- Verify stock rather than relying on “immediate delivery.” Ask for the vehicle identification number or a written allocation status when a dealer says a car is available. Confirm that the stock unit has the promised trim and wheel configuration.
- Set a wait trigger. If you are waiting, require concrete milestones such as a named Korean EV, published specifications, an order-opening date and a delivery estimate. Do not treat a general corporate ambition as any of those milestones.
- Recalculate when facts change. Compare the new EV’s confirmed price, range, charging access, warranty and delivery schedule with the Grand Koleos quote you saved. Until those EV details exist, the comparison is between a defined purchase and a forecast.

- What will the Renault Korea EV be called? No name is identified in the cited 2026 roadmap report.
