MotorTrend reported starting prices of $119,995 for fiberglass-bodied cars and $179,995 for aluminum-bodied cars. Those are historical reported prices, not a verified current offer.
What Shelby announced in 2014
MotorTrend reported that Shelby American planned to build 50 continuation cars for the 427 Cobra’s 50th anniversary. The report gave starting prices of $119,995 for fiberglass and $179,995 for aluminum. These figures describe the reported terms of that 2014 announcement, not current pricing or confirmation that any of the cars remain available. Read MotorTrend’s 2014 report.
Do not confuse it with the CSX8000 anniversary flyer
Shelby American also published a 50th Anniversary Cobra flyer for a distinct CSX8000-series offering. The flyer describes 50 vehicles and reserves serial numbers CSX 8950 through CSX 8999. Those details belong to the flyer’s offering; they do not establish that the 2014 announcement used the CSX8000 series. See Shelby American’s flyer.
What Shelby’s current CSX6000 page says
Shelby’s current CSX6000 427 Cobra page describes continuation 427 S/C production as having resumed in 1997 and lists fiberglass or aluminum body configurations. For the configurations shown, the page says the engine and transmission are not included and directs customers to contact Shelby about pricing. It provides general continuation-Cobra context, not evidence that the 2014 anniversary cars or their reported prices are currently available.
