For the UK market, current guides identify seven electric SUVs with three-row, seven-seat configurations: Tesla Model Y, Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9, Peugeot E-5008, Volvo EX90, Mercedes-Benz EQB and Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV. Availability, seating and prices depend on model year and trim, so check the manufacturer’s current UK order page before buying. Electric MPVs and van-based people-carriers are useful alternatives, but they are not SUVs.
Which seven-seat electric SUVs are available in the UK?
The list below reflects UK-focused model guides published in February and July 2026. It is a shortlist of models reported with seven-seat configurations, not a guarantee that every version is currently orderable. Confirm the exact trim and seat layout with the manufacturer.

RAC’s boot figures are useful for comparing the amount of luggage space left when every seat is in use, but they are guide-reported values and the available information does not establish that the brands used identical measurement conditions.
How usable are the third rows?
Seven seats can mean anything from a cabin designed for regular use by adults to a compact pair of seats best reserved for children or occasional trips. RAC says adults fit in all three rows of the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9, while it characterises the EQB’s rearmost seats as tight and suited to smaller children. The Model Y’s third row is described by Top Gear as two folding jump seats.

- Don't Rush to Return!: When people first use air mattress, they may mistakenly think it is leaking because it stretches due to the pressure of air filling it. Please inflate the mattress to full again to allow it to expand. Repeat this process for 2-3 nights until the air mattress fully expands and settles in.
Before choosing, check how the third row is reached, whether the seats can be folded independently, and how much luggage remains when all seven places are occupied. If the family routinely travels seven-up with bags, the boot figure with all rows in place matters more than the headline maximum boot capacity.
What do range and charging figures actually tell you?
Range figures are not directly interchangeable unless they refer to the same market, variant and test cycle. Kia explicitly identifies its EV9 maximum as WLTP and warns that real-world range can be reduced by driving style, speed, temperature, terrain and electrical loads. Peugeot’s figures likewise vary by battery and source account. For the Ioniq 9 and EX90, the cited guides report different maxima, so confirm the exact UK version rather than treating the highest number as universal.

Charging claims need the same care. Kia’s stated 10–80% in 24 minutes and Peugeot’s 20–80% in 30 minutes describe different charge windows and manufacturer/source conditions; they are not a direct comparison of a typical stop. Battery condition, charger output and conditions affect actual charging time.
Are electric people-carriers a better fit for some families?
If maximum passenger and luggage practicality matters more than SUV styling, consider electric MPVs and van-based people-carriers separately. Options named in UK guides include the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, Kia PV5, Citroën e-Berlingo XL, Mercedes-Benz EQV and Vauxhall Vivaro Life Electric. RAC also lists the Vauxhall Combo Life Electric, Peugeot e-Rifter, Toyota Proace City Verso EV, Peugeot e-Traveller, Citroën e-Spacetourer and Toyota Proace Verso EV.

RAC reports 1,030 litres of boot space with all seats in place for the Mercedes-Benz EQV and 989 litres for the Vauxhall Vivaro Life Electric. It also flags the Vivaro’s 143-mile range as a limitation. These are figures reported by the guide, not independent test results in this article.
Top Gear’s July 2026 account lists the Kia PV5 from £31,495 and its long-range version from £34,495, including the government grant cited there. Prices and grant eligibility can change, so verify the current offer and whether it applies to the exact vehicle before relying on those amounts.

What about the Cadillac Escalade IQ or IQL?
Cadillac’s US comparison page lists the 2026 Escalade IQL as a seven-seat, three-row electric SUV and gives a 460-mile Cadillac-estimated range. That page does not establish UK availability, so it is not part of the UK buying shortlist. Cadillac

How to choose the right seven-seat EV
- Check the actual seat layout. Confirm whether seven seats are standard or an option on the precise trim and model year.
- Try the third row in person. If adults or older children will use it regularly, assess access, headroom and legroom rather than assuming all seven-seat layouts are equivalent.
- Measure your normal load. Compare boot space with every seat occupied and test whether your usual bags fit.
- Match the range claim to the version. Use the manufacturer’s current UK specification and note its test cycle; plan around real journeys and charging access, not just the maximum quoted range.
- Compare charging windows carefully. Check the stated percentage range and conditions behind charging-time claims, then consider the chargers available on your routes.
- Include non-SUVs if practicality is the priority. An electric MPV or van-based people-carrier may leave more room for luggage with all seats in use.
