Its name covers several generations: the original launched in 2022, the New M7 arrived on 12 September 2023, and the all-new M7 launched on 23 September 2025. The dates matter: prices, powertrains and driver-assistance equipment differ by version.
What is the AITO M7?
AITO is a vehicle brand jointly developed by Huawei and SERES. SERES describes itself as a manufacturer focused on new-energy vehicles; it handles vehicle manufacturing, while Huawei participates in the collaboration and supplies technology. SERES lists M7 launches or updates in 2022, 2023 and 2025, so “AITO M7” does not refer to one fixed specification. SERES company profile; CnEVPost, 4 July 2022.

The 2023 details come from AITO’s 12 September 2023 announcement. The 2025 launch date, configuration and reported starting price were covered by CnEVPost on 23 September 2025. Huawei-hosted M7 launch material listed the 2025 EREV trims from RMB 279,800 to RMB 359,800 and BEV trims from RMB 319,800 to RMB 379,800. These are historical China-market launch list prices, not current quotes; launch-era promotional benefits shown on that page expired on 3 November 2025.
Is the AITO M7 electric or hybrid?
It depends on the model year. The 2025 all-new M7 was offered as either a BEV or an EREV. A BEV runs on battery power alone. An extended-range electric vehicle uses electric drive with an onboard engine-generator arrangement, rather than being a battery-only vehicle. The launch report uses the term EREV, while SERES’s filing calls the powertrain REEV; both refer to the range-extended electric offering in these sources.

What the range figures do—and do not—mean
SERES’s 2025 filing gives figures above 700 km for the BEV and above 1,600 km for the REEV under the CLTC test cycle. Those are company-reported cycle figures, not independently measured road-test range. The filing also gives an MSRP range of RMB 279,800–379,800 for the 2025 model. SERES Group 2025 filing.
What equipment should buyers check?
Confirm the model year, trim and seat layout before comparing equipment. The 2023 launch announcement referred to HUAWEI ADS 2.0. AITO’s changeable live specification page now lists later equipment, including Huawei ADS 5; that current listing should not be read as proof that the 2023 M7 had ADS 5. Check the exact vehicle configuration with the seller rather than assuming all M7s share the same driver-assistance hardware or software. AITO M7 configuration page.

At the 2023 launch, Huawei executive Richard Yu described the New M7 using promotional “ceiling” language for its smart cockpit, driving and safety. Those were launch-event claims, not independent performance findings. The dated announcement identifies Yu as Huawei Consumer BG executive director and CEO and CEO of its Intelligent Automotive Solution BU at the time.

For the September 2025 launch, CnEVPost reported HIMA/AITO figures of more than 10,000 firm orders in the first five minutes and more than 230,000 pre-orders accumulated since 5 September 2025. SERES’s 2025 filing reports AITO M7 deliveries of 17,648 in 2022, 60,049 in 2023 and 197,246 in 2024; it reports 33,760 for the six months ended 30 June 2025. The half-year figure covers a different period from the annual totals and should not be treated as a full-year result. These are SERES-reported deliveries, not a forecast for the all-new model. How to compare an AITO M7 listing
- Match the year: distinguish the 2022 original, 2023 New M7 and 2025 all-new M7.
- Check the powertrain: the 2025 version has BEV and EREV choices; do not assume an older listing shares them.
- Choose the seating layout: five- and six-seat configurations were offered for the 2023 New M7 and 2025 all-new M7.
- Verify the trim and assistance system: ADS equipment is version- and trim-dependent, and current web specifications can reflect later updates.
- Treat prices as dated: the figures above are historical China-market launch prices, not confirmation of present availability or dealer pricing.
