Its modified, GR Corolla-related 1.6-liter turbo three-cylinder is reported to make 500 hp on low boost and as much as 600 hp on high boost. The build also turns the original front-wheel-drive Celica into an all-wheel-drive car, with major structural changes to fit the new drivetrain.
Is Ryan Tuerck’s Celica a factory GT-Four?
No. GT411 began as a US-market 1994 Celica GT. Tuerck kept his Japanese-market GT-Four road car for street use and chose the US-market GT as the basis for a separate rally-inspired project. The aim, as The Drive reports, was a “psycho rally car” with the spirit of 1990s Celica GT-Four rally machinery.
The distinction matters: the GT-Four is the inspiration, while GT411 is a custom Celica GT transformed well beyond its original specification. In a 2024 build announcement, Tuerck described the 1990s as the era when he learned about the World Rally Championship and Japanese-market Toyotas, and said it was a major reason he loves Japanese cars (PASMAG).
How much horsepower does GT411 make?
The Drive reports two output figures, depending on boost: 500 hp at low boost and up to 600 hp with boost turned up. The headline 600 hp is therefore the reported high-boost figure, not a constant output claim. The available reporting presents these as build specifications; it does not establish an independently verified dyno result.

What engine is in the GT411?
The car uses a modified 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder from the G16E family associated with the modern Toyota GR Corolla. It is related to the GR Corolla powerplant, not the Celica’s original engine. Reported engine components include:
- Garrett G30-770 turbocharger
- Custom exhaust header by Teixeira Fabrication
- Nitto Performance Engineering forged pistons and rods
- Kelford Stage 2 camshafts
- Supertech valvetrain
These are reported parts in the GT411 build, not a complete specification of every engine modification.

Is the Celica all-wheel drive?
Yes. The original US-market Celica GT was front-wheel drive, so the AWD conversion required substantial fabrication rather than a simple bolt-on change. Reporting describes a reworked floorpan and tubular rear subframe to accommodate the drivetrain, along with Wavetrac differentials and a Holinger sequential gearbox. The car also has a roll cage and carbon-fiber body panels.

After about a year of work, GT411 made its reported competition debut at the FAT Ice Race in Big Sky, Montana. The Drive reports that Tuerck finished second at that event. That result applies to the car’s first reported outing, not to a broader season record.
