Royal Enfield says the Electric Himalayan is a test bed, not a production motorcycle, and that it has no plans at present to put it into production. The company has not announced a launch date. What Royal Enfield says about the Electric Himalayan
On its official Flying Flea FAQ, Royal Enfield answers “Will the Electric Himalayan be launched?” by describing it as a test bed intended for rigorous testing in tough conditions. The company says: “There are no plans at this moment to put the motorcycle into production.” Royal Enfield’s FAQ does not give a launch date or say the project has been permanently cancelled.
The distinction matters: the Electric Himalayan is a development concept, not an announced upcoming model. The FAQ supplies no production specifications, price, range, battery capacity or charging time for it.

EICMA 2023: a design concept
Royal Enfield unveiled the Electric Himalayan Testbed at EICMA 2023. The company’s FY2023–24 release called it the brand’s first electric vehicle design concept and described it as a creative expression of what an electric adventure tourer could look like. February 2025: an executive’s long-term outlook
In a February 2025 interview, Mint reported that Mario Alvisi, Royal Enfield’s EV product strategy lead, considered the concept not production-ready for nearly a decade. That was an attributed interview comment, not an official launch schedule. Mint also discussed general engineering challenges around electric-motorcycle power-to-weight and battery size; those remarks are not published specifications for the Himalayan test bed. Royal Enfield’s EICMA 2025 release continued to call the machine the Electric Himalayan Testbed and showed it among future-facing concepts. Don’t confuse it with the Flying Flea range
Flying Flea is Royal Enfield’s separate all-electric brand and product range. The company’s FAQ identifies C6 and S6 as its initial models; that is distinct from the Electric Himalayan adventure-tourer test bed.
